It's for a 24 hour period.

It’s 3 different daily figures, doesn’t mean they ALL happened in that 24 hours, hospitals in particular go back 10 days and further. If it was 170+ just on a Friday with zero backdating, then another 200+ the next day again with no backdating then it’d be even more of a massive worry. As it is, even with the figures going back up in triple digits overall, we still aren’t quite yet hitting it weekly much less daily

This whole thing could've been dealt with so much better.

Get England on a circuit breaker and be done with it all for a month or two. Then go again. Rinse and repeat

If they start getting this vaccine out in December that might make a difference, surely will be summer at the earliest until the majority of the very high risk people are vaccinated.

This tier 4 information has clearly been released by the tories to the media today.
Restaurants and nonessential shops should have ben closed weeks ago. These butchers have left themselves that fall back point to go to in order to delay the only thing that makes sense: a circuit breaking full lockdown. These restaurants are 'kin shameful, btw. Keeping their doors open to cram people in for drinks and food knowing that their environment and the time people are in there make them perfect covid19 incubators.

This is all because the Tories want their mates in business who pay their bills left to make profits and thereby accelerate the virus transmission. Thats the only reason schools are still open in England.

They are murderers.

Hmm I'm not sure. You'd think that's the aim and would be a catalyst for 'normality' again but I don't think it will go so smoothly.

What you think? More like 2022 before it's a bit of normality? They do seem to think this Oxford vaccine is going to pass the trials and they are already manufacturing it I believe.

We had a degree of normality in the Summer.

I think we will get it back sometime around March.

Normal, normal probably as you say 2022.

Having a vaccine ready is one thing, developing enough of it and distributing it to those who need it efficiently is an entire other thing. Let alone all the misinformation about the cause which will fuel the doubters fires.

That and the fact this is a virus and will likely mutate by next winter anyway.

It’s not each day Dave, it’s the collected total over one month and two months. Break the totals down further and numbers are lower, example yesterday’s 28 day figure breaks down at 43 a week and 6 per day. The 60 day one works out at 22 per week and 3 per day

Eh ?
I'd say Dave's closer to reality than what I think you're saying here.

From the official figures, by date of death rather than when those deaths were announced

So, for the dates 16 to the 21st October the deaths were

133, 165, 145, 159, 163 and 168.

So not in the hundreds a day ( as in more than 200 ) yet, but not far off.
