Absolute credit to you mate on a number of levels .

as I said the other day from a purely economic stand point places are going to go under and the sad part is not purely badly run businesses, not those with no clue or stealing a living but people at the top of their game, particularly ambitious independents who seven days ago were flying .
The transport minister who goes by the name of Grant shapps at this point in time, clearly stated today on TV only badly run businesses will go under.

China has been gradually getting back over the past few weeks, still no sign of rates shooting up.

Singapore put in place testing/tracking early and not only managed to avoid a major outbreak but are also largely back to normal.
Perhaps an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?

Im dubious of these sorts of things as the worlds currently on lockdown.

I imagine all it would take is a few tourists to singapore with this thing to flare it all up again.

Sadly in a globalised world you're relying on every country otherwise folk flying and cruising all over the place will just spread it back around imo.

We hear that some pub chains will be closing pubs by the end of the week. They are driven by profit and have no real option. Independents have a choice, but it depends where they are and their financial drivers. A highly geared operation with large debt to sustain and massive operating costs due to food and drink, will struggle or just go under. Places like ours, funded by a very small group of private owners, with no debt repayments, cash fluidity, no need for profit, and driven by keeping the place open and not profit driven, is a different proposition. It’s easier for us tbh. Costs a fortune, but such is life.....

The people who were already being screwed over massively by the beer tie are going to suffer even more now - another thing that successive governments were told about for years and did nothing about.

An article today in the guardian. It beggars belief it really does....

I work on the infectious diseases ward of a major UK hospital. This has now become a coronavirus ward. It’s a “red zone” – one of the most infectious areas. We have all the patients here who have tested positive, apart from the ones so severely ill they need intensive care. We know that some of our patients will die.

I treat patients who are proven to have coronavirus. One week ago, I was wearing full PPE [personal protective equipment]. That consists of a proper FFP3 mask [offering high respiratory protection], a visor, a surgical gown, and two pairs of gloves.

'Not fit for purpose': UK medics condemn Covid-19 protection

Now we’ve been told not to bother with any of that. They’ve told us “just treat it as though it’s seasonal flu”. Now we are expected to wear just a normal surgical mask, a pair of ordinary short gloves, and a plastic apron that doesn’t cover all of you like a surgical gown does. I would see other patients around the hospital in the same scrubs, and the scrubs could have coronavirus on them.
But this advice contradicts WHO and European guidance. This guidance says to use full PPE if you are exposed to patients with coronavirus.

I am terrified. I’m seriously considering whether I can keep working as a doctor. I may be OK – I’m young and healthy – but I can’t bear the thought of infecting other patients with a disease that could kill them. And that is the risk, without proper PPE. It’s terrifying; it’s indescribable. This is not seasonal flu. This is a new virus with greater mortality and we know much less about it.

I cannot believe or understand why Public Health England has downgraded our PPE advice. Why are they contradicting international advice? The evidence that ordinary surgical masks are protective is from dealing with seasonal flu, not this new virus. Doctors are dying in Italy and China. Young people are dying, too.
I cannot understand what the rationale and motives are. Have they given up? Are they just deciding to build up herd immunity by watching us die? The government has given up, hasn’t it?
I’m losing faith in the leadership, medical as well as political. It doesn’t look like there’s a plan. We had weeks to prepare and we are still running out of PPE. And clearly, doctors are expendable. Why sacrifice us when there aren’t enough of us as it is? How many of us will still be able to work when the “right time” finally arrives? They are throwing us into the slaughterhouse. This is what they are doing.
How can I sleep? I feel sick. They are making it impossible for me to do my job. I’m in shock. I feel betrayed. Who is going to look after our patients if we are ill or dead?
I cannot understand why they have stopped testing and contract tracing, either. Hospital staff are being told we cannot be tested if our [own] symptoms are mild. This is unbelievable. If we’re not allowed to be tested, then how will we ever know how many other people – patients – we are infecting? Brilliant. What a brilliant plan.

So it would seem that the majority of people on GOT know more than the top medical experts in the UK government?

Even after all this time, NIST still refuses to release the computer models which they claim scientifically explain the collapse of the three (hit by 2 planes) World Trade Center sky scrapers.
The first, second, and third steel framed high rise in recorded history to fall due to fire, at, or close to the speed of gravity, exhibiting all the scientific characteristics of controlled demolition, and no characteristics of a fire induced collapse. They are believed simply because they are NIST, and government experts. Anything or anyone that deviates from the official narrative is a conspiracy theory, or theorist even if the narrative itself is contradicted by mountains of physical and circumstantial evidence, the biggest of which are videos of the collapses themselves.

I won't derail the thread with 911, but the similarities to it, and this crisis bear a striking, and worrying similarity.

Appeal to expert logical fallacy’s. Expert advice that defies, basic scientific principles or even common sense. Refusal to publish the data, and computer models, on which they claim their science is based, while defense (pandemic) systems have been dismantled (Trump) and stood down before the disaster occurs. Nations paralyzed by incomprehensible inaction that shall later be explained away as simple incompetence, when it is impossible to conceive even to laymen, how anyone could be this idiotic.

What does 9/11 have to do with anything at all, other than being an entirely unrelated topic shoehorned into here?

I did a lot of research on the pub trade before buying our pub, the one thing that struck me more than anything was how the brewer owned pubs screwed the Landlords on the way in, stitched them up while in situ, then screwed them again on the way out. Being private and Freehold, the brewers give us massive discounts and try to do everything they can to help, in the full knowledge that we can simply go to other brewers, who will do similar.....
