Here it is in all it's gory detail.

Peter doesn't realise you cant isolate and shut up society forever therefore as soon as the doors are opened the infection rate shoots back up as China will soon find out.

If I had my way I would be seeking compo from the Chinese Government for how this thing even came about.

Wonderful, as in, what a mess.

That is a fantastically misleading article that only someone like Wickham, with his contacts and career to date, could have come up with.

They didn't only just realise what the policy would do; thats why Peston and the other creatures of the Tories went around telling people that loads of people would die , that most of the population would be affected by this virus (as they would have to be to develop herd immunity quickly) and that the NHS would probably be under severe pressure by the massive influx of patients last week. The PM himself went on TV and floated the idea of getting through this as quickly as possible by just letting it spread (later saying that to do so was one option, with containment another and that a mix of the two might be best). To suggest they did that without realising what it was is a monstrous deception.

The whole article is basically to prepare the ground for Whitty et al to be blamed when this goes wrong; "they gave the wrong advice to Ministers" will be the cry, followed by someone - Allison Pearson, probably - calling Whitty "Witless" and an expose of how weird those murdering scumbags are.

37.8 is the point at which it'd be diagnosed as a high temperature

For the moment, assume you're infected.

Test everyone's temperature again tomorrow morning. If anyone's 37.8 or over, or has a persistent cough, assume you're infected ( with something, might not be Coronavirus )

If, tomorrow morning, no-one's got a cough or a temperature, you might be OK, but get professional advice before going back to normal.

Disclaimer : I'm just a bloke on the internet, but I reckon the above advice is fairly sensible, but @DrEFC and @RAFUH seem like pros so will hopefully tell us if I'm talking bollocks.
The reported common symptoms include fatigue and a dry cough, but tbh, any kind of flu/cold symptoms alongside the low grade temps you guys already @Buckers have- self isolate 7/7. Paracetamol/ plenty of fluids. Any difficulties breathing- call 111 so they can prep for your arrival at a hospital.

No sympathy for Whitty as I said last week, take the pay take the pain. Hopefully he'll be more prepared than the special weapons adviser that Blair hung out to dry...

China has been gradually getting back over the past few weeks, still no sign of rates shooting up.

Singapore put in place testing/tracking early and not only managed to avoid a major outbreak but are also largely back to normal.
Perhaps an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?

It’s only right that we ask our resident publican @peteblue what he thinks of the latest “stay away from pubs” move.

It’s an important question. Financially our pub is privately funded. However it is the hub of the village, it employs half a dozen people and provides an escape for people. Unless ordered by the government, we will keep it open and allow small numbers to use it as they wish.

We have got signs everywhere about hand washing, our staff clean anything that moves, every door handle, table and counter every 30 minutes. We are really trying. However we know that numbers will drop and we may have to close if ordered.

On the plus side, we can refurbish with having downtime, get the pub perfect, employ our staff to help do this, while carrying the costs for however long it takes. We know we will take a hit. We are also setting up to help the rest of the village by becoming an outlet for the inevitable boredom that will settle in, delivering booze directly to the door of the over 70’s, helping with a food bank, and providing facilities and resource to give meals to school kids and families who are on free school meals.

This is a one off, in the words of the Sergeant Major in Zulu when asked ‘why us’ and he replied ‘because we are here’......

Absolutely zero chance their figures are true. None whatsoever

TBH I have loads of sympathy for him - he probably wasn't the one that decided on that course of action, just presented the various options and recommendations as to what to do.

Given that they wanted to avoid economic damage at almost all costs, were willing to let thousands die and implemented it in an incredibly incompetent manner it doesn't take a genius to work out whose grubby fingers are all over this.

Understand the skepticism but things like pollution #s are also going up so clearly industry is picking up and you’d think it would be hard to hide a major reinfection outbreak. Still early of course but perhaps lessons learnt in the first wave help tamp down a second wave - or at least stop it getting uncontrollable..

Fair play Pete. It’s good to see that you care about the welfare of your staff.

So it would seem that the majority of people on GOT know more than the top medical experts in the UK government?

Even after all this time, NIST still refuses to release the computer models which they claim scientifically explain the collapse of the three (hit by 2 planes) World Trade Center sky scrapers.
The first, second, and third steel framed high rise in recorded history to fall due to fire, at, or close to the speed of gravity, exhibiting all the scientific characteristics of controlled demolition, and no characteristics of a fire induced collapse. They are believed simply because they are NIST, and government experts. Anything or anyone that deviates from the official narrative is a conspiracy theory, or theorist even if the narrative itself is contradicted by mountains of physical and circumstantial evidence, the biggest of which are videos of the collapses themselves.

I won't derail the thread with 911, but the similarities to it, and this crisis bear a striking, and worrying similarity.

Appeal to expert logical fallacy’s. Expert advice that defies, basic scientific principles or even common sense. Refusal to publish the data, and computer models, on which they claim their science is based, while defense (pandemic) systems have been dismantled (Trump) and stood down before the disaster occurs. Nations paralyzed by incomprehensible inaction that shall later be explained away as simple incompetence, when it is impossible to conceive even to laymen, how anyone could be this idiotic.

Absolute credit to you mate on a number of levels .

as I said the other day from a purely economic stand point places are going to go under and the sad part is not purely badly run businesses, not those with no clue or stealing a living but people at the top of their game, particularly ambitious independents who seven days ago were flying .

He should stick to the doctoring then. Won't be the first one with an ego, so more fool him for walking with those snakes.
