False Information.

The trust is still in planning stage , there has been an increase in space but nothing critical whatsoever. I've even had that email the information is relating to.

There's no critical stage going on in Liverpool hospitals.

In fact services are still in the process of opening consultant clinics back up again and there has been no plan to shut that down.
Certainly not true in my missus hospital.

Fake news.
This isn’t the case in aintree hospital.

Hold on a second: should I believe GOT's very own Three Stooges or a report in the Health Care Service journal?

Let me think.....

Well my info comes directly from people working there like.

It’s reaching bad levels and they have contingency plans in place but it’s not at the level that tweet suggests.

Might be different in other hospitals though.

I believe my missus, as she’s currently at work in a local hospital, with no agenda other than to look after her patients. Says it’s busy, but they haven’t hit full capacity yet.

She says Hi by the way and hopes the sky hasn’t fallen in on you yet ;)

Well I work there in a supervisory role overseeing all of the specialty clinics so believe me or not , up to you.

Not like I get regular updates including the email that fella is trying to quote from.

They are rolling back elective care, that part is true hence why I know exactly where the information came from.

Unless the trust is just not telling any of its staff (given it's all user emails) and opening potentially 100s of consultant clinics just to shut them down again at the very last minute then I can safely tell you the trust isn't in crisis mode. Oh and some of my staff would be redeployed if we were.

Anecdotal evidence. In any case are they privvy to the internal documents of the Trusts they work in?

You were openly adopting your title of "Dr Kenshin" the other day...guess what option I'm going to take on your offer?!

It was only a few weeks ago we were told to expect 50k cases by middle of this month, i.e. this week.

I get it's very very difficult to accurately predict these things going forward, and it's a near impossible job. But some of the projections have been so far off that people are just switching off now. They don't take the advice seriously. I have to say I am a growing sceptic too.

Thing is though, we weren’t ‘told to expect’ 50,000 cases. In that press conference they said “If the doubling continues at the current rate we’d get 50,000 cases per day” at this point. Hence more areas then going into local lockdowns to slow the doubling rate. That’s not scare stories or a prediction or anything like that, it’s just maths.

As we’re now getting 15-17k cases per day, it would seem the doubling rate has been slowed to an extent, but unless we see the growth trend suddenly reverse, we’ll be at the 50,000 per day in 2-3 weeks.
