My missus is never out of the gym and she says its very hygienic.

I feel for the mma gyms as a lot of the training can not be done via social distancing - I haven't trained since February and doubt I will anytime soon.

It's everyones choice isn't it mate. If you're not willing to train, i'd respect that.

But everyone is conscious, it's a community, the gym I go to, everyone respects each other, everyone makes sure everything is clean.

If i go to a bar in town on a Friday with strangers, or to a restaurant, I don't know these people, i'm more likely to cross with them after a few. Just bizarre.

If there is actual data, then fair enough. Just havnt seen any. (that said, havnt seen much about pubs neither; its down to idiot behaviour bottom line.)
I text her and her reply was along the lines of there is mixed evidence but enough to air on the side of caution.

"Evidence may suggest akin to coughing with increased aerosol dispersal. 800-1200 litres of air over an hour. Fluid lined trachea will expel contaminated aerosol."

She did also say it could come down to demographics and none of the above. She's currently out having a meal*, so I'm sure she'll give a thorough answer later.

*Don't let Dave see with a medical professional supporting the sector.

This isnt the fault of the government, its the fault of all the meffs who cant be bothered to wear face masks, dont wash hands, and hang around in groups.
It's clearly not just people not wearing masks that's the issue here.

I wish people would stop saying that like everyone wearing a mask immediately solves the pandemic.

Majority of people do wear masks and yet here we are with cases.

So if you are a pub that doesn’t sell food you start selling pies to get around the closure.

What a weird rule if that’s the case.
Like I always say, half arse measures with simple workarounds and loopholes.

All of this is the same and has been since we came out of lockdown.

Every pub will now serve food, every pub will have a kitchen of some sort and every printer company this week will be inundated with menu requests.

But hey , the government knows best right?

Not on its own, but the anti markers are carrying on like there is nothing wrong, it's a big problem that will contribute to more lockdown.

It's the theory behind it that's flawed. You are always going to have people not wearing masks and yet as long as the majority do then the 'theory' works. After all , masks don't protect you , they apparantly protect others from you.

The issue is having hotspots where the virus spreads, mask or no mask. So clearly schools , universities and the rest have caused the increase combined with the majority of the infection rate being under 40.

This mask theory only holds ground if it was proven to stop the virus and it's not. As long as the policy remains in place then it's serving its job, even if not everyone wears them, majority will do.

But then if masks are so important to curbing cases , I've always asked why aren't they compulsory everywhere outside the house where they would be most effective. On spot fines for not wearing a mask and you get everyone wearing them then.

Farce that they'd close Gyms, I know so many people whos life is the Gym, either PT or genuinely fitness fanatics. Seems like the strangest place to close, you go in, you sanitise after every set, and i'm yet to meet anyone in the Gym as of yet, who's had COVID.

The mental health benefits are often overlooked for the obvious physical benefits.
If this is true it’s a disastrous policy which is not based in science but based on “well, we have to shut something? What makes more money pubs or gyms? Let’s go with the latter.”

Despite me giggling at some gym bunnies earlier in the year, I struggle see them being the same risk as a pub.

The cleaning in my gym has been extremely strict and well enforced.

Closing a place of exercise as we go into the winter is complete madness during a health crisis. I will be genuinely pretty upset if mine closes again. I'm working at home all day so its great to get out of the house in the evening and have some actual human interaction.

Plus its obviously important to exercise and the government should be actively encouraging it at this time.

I'm thoroughly fed up hearing people demanding stuff be closed. They have zero grasp of the effect on people's lives or the pressures of losing your job. Its been 7 months, this cant go on.
