Very interesting that now the Covid wave has passed through london and is now spreading north and west the financial support has reduced, once again the north south divide is seen.
well done to Andy Burnham for speaking up!!
Sick of him and Anderson and Rotherham piping up for business owners.

The rate of infection is going through the roof and their overwhelming message is to generate cash to hand to owners of pubs to close and - incredibly - to lobby for restaurants to stay open.

Arh my point is that now that the initial Covid wave has passed through London (eg London is dealing with the reducing effects of the first wave) and the initial wave of high infection levels is now in the north, the south east based government is reducing the financial support.

Tilting at windmills here mate.

The Government support has been universal. Its about the only thing they emerge with any credit with.

But it needs to remain at the same level, if it was right then it is right now

It pretty much is, for the wages for folk whose business will be shut. The original 80% furlough scheme was decreased once things started opening up a bit, to similar levels as this new targeted scheme.

The self employed scheme is a bit meh mind.

Should be 80% if they are closing businesses down in let’s face it what are some of the most deprived areas in the country. I doubt it would cost anywhere near the £2500/month limit for the majority.

The best one is, if someone comes into the store without a mask on then those working there aren't allowed to question said person as to why they are not wearing a mask because if they have an underlying illness as a reason not to wear a mask, then asking that person could be looked upon as discriminating.
Surely it is just about how somebody asks the question in a non assumptive way that says show me your exemption card or put a mask on.

You would think so mate, my lad said that they have been told not to approach and ask why someone is not wearing a mask. I mentioned to him that surely the store manager would be in a position to inquire, he said no, no one can. This was a while ago like so may have changed. I'll ask him when he gets in.

Wouldnt have a problem with that at all. The point being made was that London were getting more cash, grant wise, than Liverpool/The North. Thats eyewash.

And plenty of posts on here today saying bars and pubs up there are taking the piss with SD and masks.

At our tills yesterday a young lad got too close to an elderly man. The man put his arm up and gestured for him to step back and the young lad put him on his arse.
All kicked off with other customers wading into the young lad.
The arl fella was on blood thinning tablets and all sorts so it could have ended really serious.

These are the sort of people you are dealing with I’m afraid.

Bellends everywhere mate.

I’ve read them and have also said that I haven’t seen that in the couple I have been in. When you’re in the Brick and Yvonne tells you to get away from the bar and sit down then you tend to comply!

She should have got an MBE today!

Like you, what I read on here versus what I actually see, is chalk and cheese..
