This Government will not offer a financial package like furlough again.

And by the way, even furlough wasn't enough to save many from serious financial hardship. The majority of restaurant and pub workers cannot afford to lose 20% of their wage every month.
How many times have you been wrong? I'd err just a little bit on the side of caution on these statements if I were you. We are heading into a storm again and if you dont think support will come you are very wrong. Even today this chancellor is announcing financial support for businesses that have to close.

Do keep up.

You've got zero to say to anybody else about being wrong on this subject.

Many of us on here cautioned against the opening up of the so called "hospitality" sector back in the summer and got absolutley pilloried for it; many of us cautioned against the reopening of schools, colleges and universities and got pilloried for it.

Well, here we are on the cusp of a meltdown.

Well done "libertarians". I hope you enjoyed your pasties and your ale and getting your back sack and cracks waxed, or whatever it was you simply had to have done. Now the rest of us (and especially the shileded 2.5M) pay for it.

Still, you had a great time, and that's the main thing, eh?

enjoying this aren't you? nearly approaching your communist dream.

Let everyone just go to work and no leisure at all

Turn it in you shambles.

He's not arsed about the working class.

Shut the industries that keep them off the streets, stick them on 80% of their already meagre salaries. Who cares as long as we SHUT IT DOWN.

not even going to be 80% now more like 66%. This will ruin people's lives

They should of applied for one of them unsecured loans or dodgy PPE contracts.

You know this?
Nothing to do with those areas only getting 10pc of requested tests compared with the London's >80pc ? Or the proportion of white collar workers/those on decent contracts? Poverty and the necessity to work whilst ill? Mixed messaging and little or no support from central government?
None of these things have a bearing at all, therefore you can excuse your grifter chums?

You‘re right, it’s a Tory plot to wind up the North......

Wouldn’t be anything to do with towns and cities having universities and numerous schools that have reopened a few weeks before the rise in cases

I would imagine that if these students act like idiots and don’t follow any of the sensible rules, mask, distance, sanitise, then you would be correct....

No Dave, I think you`ll find that it was only you and by the way, how are you paying for it ?

Other than your Morning Star, there doesn`t appear to be anything at all that brings you any enjoyment.

Your life would appear to be full of nothing but bitterness and resentment.

What Vallance and Whitty did in that news conference was deeply irresponsible.

Scare people with facts if you can - don't just make crap up if you can't. If you constantly go with worst case scenario and the reality gets nowhere near that and never could have got near that, then the public tune out.

It's the "boy who cries wolf" scenario.

What am I not getting, couldn't that graph just suggest to that there's possibly a one week lag?
