From what i remember it started down south (London) in march and worked its way up (don't remember London being closed down before anyone else).
Maybe its working its way down this time the difference being the north will be closed down before the south.

lol
The reason everywhere was locked down in March was because nobody had even formulated a plan of local lockdowns, and we had no idea how much had spread to the rest of the UK due to lack of testing.

Just invest in more ICU beds u horrible selfish slimeballs... Not that i disagree, was being told to take off and leave shops way before masks became the first line of defense. Much wrong with this country of ours....
hello buddy thank u for this response which is slightly unclear so could u please confirm what ur trying to imply.

Indeed, it’s not ‘political’ it’s just a lack of following the rules by the people in towns and cities. Wear a mask, keep your distance, wash or sanitise your hands. It isn’t hard really....
You know this?
Nothing to do with those areas only getting 10pc of requested tests compared with the London's >80pc ? Or the proportion of white collar workers/those on decent contracts? Poverty and the necessity to work whilst ill? Mixed messaging and little or no support from central government?
None of these things have a bearing at all, therefore you can excuse your grifter chums?

Wouldn’t be anything to do with towns and cities having universities and numerous schools that have reopened a few weeks before the rise in cases

Especially in Liverpool where we have three universities all within a few miles of eachother.

Now we’re seeing places like Manchester, Leeds, and Nottingham with spiralling cases the correlation becomes clear.

You're arguing for something that the government is not going to offer, certainly not to the level required to stop plunging these people into debt.

Yes, it would be great if we had a government who would shut everything down and fully fund everybody's wages to kill the virus off. But that is not what this government is offering. You crying and wailing to 'SHUT IT DOWN' will therefore plunge millions into debt and despair over winter.
You aren't following events closely enough, you have no feel for the developing dynamic of this situation.

Government is going to move - as they did in March - decisively on this again, just like their counterparts in France and Germany have.

Do it now ans save lives. Stop dallying and putting off the inevitable.

This Government will not offer a financial package like furlough again.

And by the way, even furlough wasn't enough to save many from serious financial hardship. The majority of restaurant and pub workers cannot afford to lose 20% of their wage every month.

Many of us on here cautioned against the opening up of the so called "hospitality" sector back in the summer and got absolutley pilloried for it; many of us cautioned against the reopening of schools, colleges and universities and got pilloried for it.

Well, here we are on the cusp of a meltdown.

Well done "libertarians". I hope you enjoyed your pasties and your ale and getting your back sack and cracks waxed, or whatever it was you simply had to have done. Now the rest of us (and especially the shileded 2.5M) pay for it.

Still, you had a great time, and that's the main thing, eh?
