Antibodies can disappear after a couple of months hence not showing up in tests even if you have done previously.
This is why Herd Immunity is a dangerous sham

I’m currently coming towards the end of my isolation period after a positive test
Feels like a mild flu with occasional waves of feeling a lot worse
Tbh my verdict is we wasted the time with lockdown, should have had an extended shielding program instead while letting it burn through people like me to get a level of immunity
Boris and co saw daily mail headlines and their bumholes went and we’ve now wasted all this time and trashed the economy to be barely better prepared

So do you reckon it would have been better to shield the vunerable and let others deal with the virus?

See I get why we went into lockdown when we did, it was panic but entirely justifiable at the time I think. But we now seem to be ignoring the information that we do have and still working with predictions and guesses which as shown, are a little bit extreme.

If herd immunity was a sham then we would have millions of cases of flu every single year.

We only vaccinate those who are vunerable for a reason fella. And why we don't have a pandemic for the flu, because our immune systems can deal with the virus for the most part.

I agree. Hand cleaning. Sanitising. 2m social distancing. Face masks etc etc would have seen is through like we are now.. The economy is utterly knackered.

Economies rock back, especially ones effectively put on hold. The lock down was mainly to protect the NHS from crumbling, and largely, that was achieved. Like you say, going forward some simple measures will allow most to live with this thing, until when, heavens only knows though.

yerh that’s my take on it
Unfortunately with a new virus deaths are inevitable to some degree but it was bloody obvious who was gonna be high risk of a serious run in with it
Instead of the full lockdown I would have said shield those who are likely to get done in by it and let the rest of us spread it among ourselves to build up immunity levels - like the controlled burns they do to keep down wildfires
Then by the time shielding was over there’d be enough of a firewall to stop it catching like crazy among the vulnerable
Instead we’ve metaphorically left the forest floor full of dry wood

I wouldn’t exactly ask Father Christmas for covid 19 but me and my missus have had far worse, no reason that others in our demographic can’t shrug it off in the large part

Awfulky high number that like that doesn't rely on our immune systems to deal with it in a hers immunity style.
