Thats exactly what it is. As you must know, a few years ago free flu jabs were rolled out to the elderly. Or at least they were written to suggesting they get one.

So to me, as a bloke, its the same engagement as being asked to get a breast screening or a smear test.

Havnt got an anti vax thing, just no idea if I need one. But my naturally cynical eye brows rise when I hear Boots advertising their jabs on radio ads......y'know.
Boots offer NHS pharmacy services like any other primary care, but they also offer the vaccine to non at risk groups, which is why it's not free.

You might qualify for a free one check the NHS website.

Its honestly never crossed my mind to get one.

I am the primary carer of a vulnerable (covid/and respiratory) 51 year old, still in recovery post 4 Hypoxic cardiacs. (non covid). So I dont care about my health, unless it impacts on her. So to my mind, me mucking with whats worked for 7 months, (in the face of covid), maybe aint the brightest idea.

Her GP, during telephone consultancies hasnt raised it.

I work in health commissioning and assurance
I believe the less chemicals I put in my body to help cure infections viruses the stronger my immune systems becomes by my own antibodies fighting it, I’ve seen many people dropping tablets and taking medication at the first sign of anything and they’re constantly sick or got a head cold or something. That’s my own theory behind it mate and to be honest it’s served me well as I’m very very rarely sick, maybe I’m just lucky.

Let me ask a question again. It's not relevant to me because like I'd be arsed and because I'm following instructions but let me pose something that shows you how silly the restrictions can be.

I can't go and see a friend in their house under current rules. That includes sitting in their garden with them socially distanced , big no , neighbors will apparantly call the police etc.

However according to current guidelines for Liverpool, I could sit with 5 other people in the road , socially distanced and that would be fine . It wouldn't be breaking any rules , the rules of 6 would apply and it would be less dangerous. Just a few foot away from said garden that 2 of us would be putting ourselves at risk over that would see us fined.

Yes I know before anyone says anything that is being pedantic if you were to do it but that's how silly the local lockdown rules are. If you truly wanted to crack down on numbers then group meetings shouldn't have been allowed.

Half arsed measures that can be easily circumnavigated by simply moving a few foot to the left.

Natural immunity happens because your body builds resistance to a disease after getting sick and you become better. Vaccination works by your body creating vaccine-induced immunity, which occurs when you build resistance to a disease without the illness.

It's largely assistance for you if already healthy but also assistance to others who are at greater risk if you get it and pass it on.

But as you say, your decision.

Hospital figures - 26 deaths were announced today, down 4 on yesterday and up 13 on last Wednesday. 23 deaths were in English hospitals, down 5 on yesterday and up 12 on last week with 22 occurring in the past 10 days. The 7 day rolling average rises to 20.14

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 37 deaths were announced today, the same total as yesterday and 17 up on last Wednesday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 25.43

For the 60 day cut off, 57 deaths were announced today, up 17 on yesterday’s eventual announced total of 40 and up 35 on last Wednesday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 33.14

For the legacy/no cut off, 87 deaths were announced today, down 2 on yesterday’s eventual announced total of 89 and up 20 on last Wednesday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 68.29

That logic works with antibiotic use, but not vaccines mate. I think you've conflated the two.

Whole point of a vaccine is to mimic the bodies response to a threat; it's not adding anything to your body, it's stimulating what you already have to act when there's a minor threat so that it's ready for the real thing.

It's basically an immune system fire drill.

Antibiotics, painkillers, opioids etc. etc. all lose effectiveness the longer and more often you take them, because the body builds resistance to them, so it's a good idea to use them sparingly/only when actually needed.

EDIT: Sorry didn't see this... yeah what he said.

Im convinced alot of Scots are brainwashed by Sturgeon and her nationalists.

Scary how they think she walks on water - akin to those dooey eyed over Farage.
No they don’t man. She just comes across as a fairly decent and normal person compared to the mad elitist nonsense we keep producing down here.I don’t know of any Scots who idolise her, more that they think she’s doing a good job and they trust her.

They advise against it

"If you live in the affected local areas, you must not meet or host people you do not live with in private homes or gardens unless they are in your support bubble. In addition to these restrictions, we advise that you should not:

  • socialise with people you do not live with, unless they’re in your support bubble, in any public venue. This applies to inside and outside of the affected areas. Examples of public venues include pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops, places of worship, community centres, leisure and entertainment venues, or visitor attractions

Wouldn't it be massively useful to find out just how people are catching this bloody thing?

Is it picking up a can of mushy peas that another person placed back on the shelf in Tesco 12 minutes earlier?

Is it from hugging fat Terry in The Royal Oak when that fourth goal went in?

Is it that impromptu Kareoke contest you held for your daughters 12th birthday party?

Is it from that illegal sex rave party your neighbours had last weekend?

Yes, I would. And I find it incredible that you wouldn't.

++++++Thatcher's child alert+++++
Nothing 'incredible' about it. Presumably then in your quest to save all human life at whatever cost you'd like to see all cars taken off the road too.
