Whats a curfew going to do round these parts then? Lock it all down until people can act sensibly.

My missus ( a hospital nurse ) says exactly the same mate.
I can sense some whataboutery on the way.
There are plans to scale up comms around across national/local media so it won't be anecdotal.
The specific wording, I've just checked, is shift in comms to 'dampen demand' for testing and 'if you have symptoms get tested, if not don't ask'.
Sorry, are you saying people without symptoms should be going to the hospital and using up tests?
I can appreciate that this will ease the strain on testing but in the wider context of disease mitigation surely will have some downsides given high % of asymptotic carriers?
Its a bit of a mess ain't it? One minute we've got a world class system and the next it can't cope. They don't help themselves with hyperbolic statements, this crew.
As far as I know my daughters home is continuing their weekly testing, but will find out for sure on Tuesday.

I never said it was a good approach.
However the intention is to be much more targeted than it has been and to focus on likely outbreaks.
Although at present it seems a little like the horse might have bolted.
I'm sure there will be a 'we're going to do a million for Christmas' a 'test down every chimney' type gimmick released soon to distract everyone
Yeah California put in some prioritization during the summer when things got hectic as you do need the focus on the outbreaks and get decent turnaround time if you have a hope to control them.
