You implied the BBC are instructing people not to get a test in case they have a cold, which is patently untrue. They are advising people to get a test if they have any of the three main symptoms, just as NHS staff are.

Theylve been telling since this began and testing was 'ramped up' that we should get tested if we think we have Covid19...now it's a big u-turn because the daft gets haven't got a test and trace regime in place nor adequate capacity for demand for tests.

They are taking the piss.

Are folk asking for tests cos they have a sniffle? Dunno. Do we have an effective TTI system? Seems so, at times. (Rhonda and Leicester outbreaks seem to have been contained).

But like you, the messages are increasingly weird. "Lock down" means pubs cant open till 5 in the morning, and close at 10.00 pm? Like it aint that many years ago that pubs could only open for a few hours on a Sunday, and not at all in Wales.

They're blagging it to cover up their criminal negligence.

There isn't that much more to it than that. The whole country can see it.

People being advised to travel 200 miles to get a test; people being "informed" they might want to backheel a test because it "might" be a cold.

Would this be real NHS or the make believe Carry On NHS who treated Boris whilst he was " having a nice little break " earlier on in the year ?

Itls not the staff that's always stated that, it's the NHS policy makers and the government health chiefs.

You illicitly tried to smuggle in ALL everyday front line NHS workers into the fray by suggesting they all took the view people should exercise greater discretion in getting tested...as per your "my fiance plus those she works with" line.

Stop apologising for this government and / or trying to look 'edgy'.

Fever, persistent new cough, or loss of sense of smell/taste.

All NHS staff are telling people to stay away from hospital unless they're cast irin sure they have the 'right' symptoms.

A deplorable twisting of reality.

No NHS worker is going to asdvise that. Their bosses might, but people who are friont line never would.

You're done here mate. Attributing a 'stay away from testing' line to NHS staff...the very people who KNOW how much of a catastrophe it would be if that 'advice' was peddled.

Think at this point we should be thinking about a small 2 week lockdown, but as somebody pointed out, it would probably never end.

No idea what the solution is, but the last thing we need is 000s of people going to football matches, which is what will happen this weekend........................
