But the poster could have moved to sit next to the other couple. That wouldn’t be a breach of the rules.
Restaurants do not have to separate diners in groups of six under the guidelines.
But surely you’d be under even 1 metre moving to sit with them on their table? I know you say where practical but surely that’s on a sort of last resort basis not in regards to a conscious decision to go sit with people?
The guidelines don’t discriminate between you meeting up with your best friends or people you have only spoken to on dogging websites, you can all sit round a restaurant table as long as you are not in a group of more than six.
Restaurants aren’t obligated to increase the size of their tables or create partitions between guests that are adhering to the six or less guideline.
