They can bale out banks for years to the tune of a trillion quid.

And Im not talking about all the economy shutting down. I;m talking about:

  • pubs
  • bars
  • cafes
  • restaurants
  • salons
  • gyms
I dont thinnk we can afford to see those places open.

Hours on end in confined spaces in a second wave?

Not going to happen. Not one bit of it.
How come half of those places were open for months before this latest spike? Places have got quieter since they were allowed to reopen.

You're happy to send millions of ordinary working class people into long term unemployment. Do you actually understand the health and psychological issues that will cause ?

And how long do you want to make millions of people not have a job for?

Cos this thing ain't going away soon.
They'll be furloughed - income will be reduced...but they'll be in a better position than staying in an environment that effects their heath and that of their customers.

Until we find a vaccine and / or a mutation of this virus to something weaker, we have a duty to the vulnerable to make sure we take care of them as best we can. That's just common deceny, and I wont take serious any argument that ultimately petitions for any other path to be taken.

There's been 2.5m people this summer still bricking it and staying indoors. And we have people petitioning for a continuation of ale houses and cafes to stay open to pour ale and stuff 'kin rubbish down selfish peoples necks just because the're infantile and 'MUST' have their treats. Bollocks to them.

No, Im not. I'm happy to see them getting furloughed and shutting down their workplaces that can exacerbate this winter's crisis.

Is it that 'kin hard to understand?

No, no, no. It is a pandemic. The REAL argument is simply this: we deal with businesses on the basis of how much they contribute to passing on a deadly virus. End of story.

Ale houses and restaurants - indoor for hours circulating air amongst a number of people - are incubators.

Businesses are threatened and jobs that pay buttons are threatened by that? You tell me what takes priority.

are you at risk? you seem to flap a lot about COVID so i'm guessing you are at high risk?

Is that a serious question?

Those places reopened with the virus back under control and 'out of season' in terms of people being able to get out into the open and have buildings well ventilated.

Mate I dont think anyone understands what you're saying. I certainly don't.

Your solutions are a utopia where no one works but no businesses fail and everyone gets paid. Where on earth are taxes coming from to pay for anything???

You cant expect people to survive on 80% wages.

People are only just getting over the last time.

I went shopping again today, I saw 95% masks for the first time since all this began, so maybe there is hope out there.

People need that paper dave, sorry to say, you cant just shut places.

I was with you at the start, but this thing ain't going away, you cant just shut things down and tell people they arent getting paid this week.

Even on 80% wages many people will suffer.

We tried and we failed.
Unfortunately correct. We also have a benefits system that isn’t fit for purpose.

That's nonsense. You know EXACTLY what I'm advancing here, you just refuse to countenance it for ideological reasons, I presume.

80% wages and they wont be thrown out on the streets, that's for sure.

You talk like it's a financial crisis; it's not...it's an EXISTENTIAL crisis.

Guess what, we all have and will continue to sacrifice, through curtailing of liberties and foregoing our normal way of life.

Itls rubbish, but there it is.

The alternative to what lm proposing is to throw 2.5M to the wolves. I, for one, am not having that.

You sound more and more like Margaret Thatcher by each post.

No regard for people’s jobs or the hospitality industry. Let the industry shut down and throw millions of people on the scrapheap. Every man for himself and all that ey
