Czech had over 1,500 confirmed cases yesterday, which is a new record, on a weekend. They're trying to present this spike as a natural consequence of more testing and a return to normality after the summer festivities. One of their papers was even quoting the Daily Heil yesterday in an article saying why they shouldn't panic
They've had 453 deaths so far - 100x less the number of fatalities than here.

Why should they overly panic?

Err, Roman Prymula has said today that they are in the midst of a second wave, and their hospitalisation rate will reach the level from the spring within a fortnight, and if the rate of growth isn't halted that the health system will be over-run by October.

...none of which negates my point.

The fatality rate is the key metric.

Hospital figures - 5 deaths were announced today, 3 down on yesterday and 2 up on last Sunday. All 5 were in English hospitals with the same differentials from yesterday and last week and all occurred within the past 10 days. The 7 day rolling average rises slightly to 8.71

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 5 deaths were announced today, 4 down on yesterday and 3 up on last Sunday. The 7 day rolling average rises slightly to an even 11

There has been no reported data as yet for the 60 day and legacy/zero cut off

SECOND WAVE

I listened to a radio interview this morning from the chaplain of Aintree Hospital Liverpooll
said he was very worried that ppl had become complacent about the virus .

He said the Covid ward at Aintree reopened this week and at the moment most of the patients were not needing ventilation in an ITU setting but also said the patients were mostly of the working age population NOT the older generation .
What is so difficult about complying with the hygiene advice ?
