The snail appears to be the perfect killing machine.

This why I'm personally advocating eating them at this time. It's the only option. These slow moving, slimy genocidal maniacs kill hundreds of thousands a year.

By mass consumption their slow march of death will be halted, offsetting the loss of life by other means. It's either that or we go to plan B, which is testing "Snail herd Immunity" which would be controversial as the data isn't in yet.

It's not the fault of a diligent stockpiler that they had to act first because they predicted how people would react to the virus. It's unfortunate for people who are more vulnerable, sure, but you can't blame people who were ahead of the game. lol If they had behaved more altruistically, then they too would be without supplies. What rational person, with the wellbeing of themselves or their family in mind, would do that?

If the world turns into the world that the stockpilers are preparing for then it wont matter how many items they managed to obtain because people will just forcibly take it off them.

Tuna pasta with some sweet corn and Mayo is a fine meal though.
Don't have to be a fancy Spag Boll.

Sweetcorn is the devils work and worse than the virus.

I mean I could just go to the corner shop and buy anything I wanted because people are heading straight to the big supermarkets and completely forgetting about the local shops...

I don't know what world you think stockpilers are preparing for, but I'm not sure you're being fair to them. Stockpiling simply to avoid getting this virus is reasonable imo. You don't have to stockpile because you fear chaos on the streets... Stockpiling to avoid the virus and to miss out on items if sufficient!

Crab & Sweet corn soup from a decent Chinese restaurant is a thing of beauty.

I have a friend who can't stand sweetcorn, and I'll never understand it. It's such a neutral-tasting thing. lol What's your issue with it?

Yeah, yeah alright Boris.

If we are going to be in a world where toilet paper is a massive commodity then the world has gone wrong and it will be every man for himself.

For me personally it is a card marker for humanity.

I don't really enjoy things where there is a lot of them if you get what I mean? Peas are another one. Too much effort to eat it all.

I also don't trust things that don't properly pass through you. That and sweetcorn always seems to tarnish everything I like. Tune butties? Sweetcorn in, Mexican wrap? Full of sweetcorn. It's the kopite of food.

Are there people on this thread who can actually digest sweetcorn?
I've swallowed a camera pill that goes through your whole stomach and bowel.
When I saw the footage Tomato skins are the real devil. They just stick to your insides. Dead weird.
Sweet corn, as you say.. straight through.

WUT?? lol

It's not only toilet paper that people are stockpiling, though. I will say that, although TP isn't a priority, it's all people know in the modern world. Long gone are the days of wiping our arses with big leaves or using a sponge on a stick. If you've got a back-up that you're willing to use, have at it, but I guess I understand why people don't want to either run out or have to go shopping for more thus interrupting their self-isolation.

This morning my father-in-law called to say he was going to the big box store and asked if we needed anything. We said no, thank you. This afternoon my mother-in-law called to say she'd be by to drop off a batch of minestrone soup and some chicken and green beans. After ringing the doorbell she ran back to her car and honked when I opened the door. These septuagenarians have questionable self-quarantining technique and notwithstanding their good intentions, I may have to report them to the authorities as a health risk.

I remain secure in my home, peering out the window from behind the curtain. No armored police vehicles have rolled down my street yet but I remain vigilant. If society hasn't unravelled by Tuesday I may go back to the supermarket. I'll disguise myself and carry a kitchen knife under my coat. I should've stocked up on dried cranberries when I had the chance. Alas, the curse of hubris.

Gotta be careful with that stockpiling, being prepared, rationale. Some folks round here are very much "down with this sort of thing" placard shaming.

Apparently the government knows exactly what they are doing and the final solution, sorry, I mean the deliberate intention to infect the populace is for our own good health.

It's completely reasonable to expect to show up at your supermarket and expect everything you want to be there. It's not entitled at all.

Additionally cashiers, or anybody stacking the shelves, delivery drivers, and people at the point of production should be happy with their minimum wage.

Getting sick isn't an option for them as we apparently have an endless supply of folks invested in the system.
