I’ve said before I’ve got PTSD and i know Several close friends who do as well . Those that cope the best do so , in my experience , with exercise and established routine . I’m obviously not saying the country has to put them or me first but despite what others think it does have unseen implications beyond stopping juiceheads get massive .

i think I’m right in saying , he’s said his mate hasn’t left the house in what 7 months ? You’re suggesting that’s a good thing ? How does a society function in these circumstances but more importantly the mental and physical damage he’s almost certainly doing to himself by locking himself in and withdrawing from human contact is going to be significant .

Even if he hasn't been out of the house, that would still make him more rational than people who've gone back into bars and restaurants, sitting about in confined spaces for hours on end.

THAT is infinitely more nuts than someone going a bit OTT on the shielding.

You don't seem to hear of any outbreaks in gyms. Dunno what it's like back in England but over here they're quite strict about how many are allowed in and disinfecting and all that.

I can only speak for mine but the cleaning , sanitising , distancing etc has been spot on .

I’ve half been expecting the gyms to be honest , prices for exercise equipment just started to go up again so there might be something in it .

I appreciate enjoying a bit of social interaction and going to the gym makes me a little better than a mass murderer to
Some but I’ll certainly miss them if they shut . I feel significantly better since they’ve reopened and my injury recovery , despite being no way to get any real help for it , has come on leaps and bounds in the time since the doors opened .

I've been going the gym and think they've done a good job of being as safe as they can, if i can wipe down before and after and keep in my box with lots of sanitizer around I feel pretty safe. Obviously air con regs and increased air exchanges should be adhered to aswell, but closing gyms and keeping offices and shops open makes very little sense in my completly unqualified opinion.

Not just keeping them open but encouraging people to stop working at home and get back there.

When they start Cracking down I understand gyms are perceived as an issue and face closure , It’s the way it’s going to be but it doesn’t mean I have to be overjoyed by it .

I've been sorting my garage out. It has been used as a graveyard for old chairs and beds. Already done 2 trips to the skip and have the council booked to pick up mattresses , chairs and broken threadmill.

It's getting turned into a gym with a smith machine.

State of this anecdote:

Two positive cases in Wetherspoon Bournemouth, one being staff. Their track and trace was inadequate - so no tracing can be done, and they're staying open regardless. No closing for cleaning.

Oh and there's other bars now in the area with positives too (who are actually closing and deep cleaning).
