A grim example of what legally enforced lockdown compliance can look like

it doesn’t look great but anyone who has broken the law getting arrested , particularly a pregnant woman looks bad Doesn’t it ? I mean the ‘optics ‘ of any arrest look crap I’d suggest especially when it’s a none violent crime but saying “I’ll not do the thing you’ve arrested me for “ is the equivalent to “I’ll tell them I’m sorry “ surely ? The horse had bolted so bolting the door feels a tad unnecessary.

I don’t know loads about the case but if it’s in Victoria I know they’re in a pretty heavy lockdown and if you’re organising an anti-lockdown protest then the response of the authorities doesn’t really surprise me but as you say it’s a grim example indeed .

Absolutely, but if you are going to bring in measures like that to control this disease (which will be necessary at times) then people who do what she was trying to will (and have to) get arrested and dealt with.

Also (and this is not having a go at you), I really find it hilarious that what happened to this lady is seen as outrageous policing by the same people who think that cop had every right to shoot Jacob Blake seven times in the back.

I think they are both outrageous obvs (though police brutality in the US a league apart from what is happening in this video). But I don't think this level of policing is right. I've seen this lady's calls to protest and think she's a complete idiot, but that doesn't justify it. As lockdowns wear on, protests are inevitable and may be a necessary release for some people. Preemptively jailing people for their behaviour online isn't going to quell their anger and will probably exacerbate it. This isn't a good look imo

This'll get 'em back.
