Really? Kiddy-catchers and kid-pounds?
Fines are muted. Whether they plan to take their milk is uncertain.

How much school do kids really needAlmost certainly.
When and how did I earn this hotly contested honour?
I should point out that nobody is safe even when I stay at home as there are to guys working full time on replacing the bathroom whilst a small army are working on the outside of the building.

What I don't understand is how much they changed the narrative around stadiums and masks.
I mean, why didn't WHO and our leading medical experts make such a massive u-turn on what you'd think are pretty basic stuff? Like whether masks are effective?
Like so;
I remember this woman swearing blind that large crowds aren't as bad as smaller environments like pubs. She was also totally against masks.
Yet pubs opened a lot earlier than stadiums/arenas but here she is, again with her wisdom...

I'd listen to her over the political editor at the rag tbh.
They have been dancing on a pin is my view.
Early days, it was all about coping; protect the NHS, stay at home, clap clap clap on Thurdays, etc.
Now, its control and stamp on it.
The macro issues have been obvious, but the myriad of micro issues will continue to pop up, cos basically, we have never had to do this before.
On masks early doors, there wasnt much point, and anyrate, imagine the chaos if everyone had to get one, when the NHS and social carers couldnt get enough? Macro, NHS, micro, dont be a div.
In a nutshell, the micro stuff they kinda make up as we go along.
I listened to her at the start of the year when she sat with Boris Johnson and told me arenas/large events aren't an issue and pose significantly less risk than smaller environments;
2m35s - was this ignorance, or is that just what narrative suited them at the time?
That's the bit that gets me mate.
They either don't know basics like the impact on crowd size/masks or there's a narrative.

Comes from your massive tory fambo so it was to be expectedWhy? My niece was expecting Cs in her A-levels and ended up with As, despite not taking the exam. Very fortunate for her, but hardly seems very fair.

This is a relatively new virus so there has been an inevitable evolution in our understanding. My impression was that they, and the WHO and others, were judging masks based upon doubts about their effectiveness with other viruses, and the global shortage of clinical-grade masks at that time that would not be helped by Joe Public trying to buy a load.
Regarding indoor vs outdoor, again, as Tim says above, to these lay ears, it makes sense that we'd be more contagious indoors than outdoors, but I strongly suspect at the moment that things are being driven by commercial factors as much as they are health factors, hence why restaurants and pubs are open. That live theatre performances haven't been for much of that time probably says more about the voter demographics involved than any health matters associated with it.
Think its a bit of both.
Like I said, priorities shift as the narrative shifts. As it was, the NHS was at breaking point, as it is, the need to get the economy going while minimising infections is in play. Might shift back, who knows? But if we keep this mask/SD/dont be a bell behaviour for a few months, the new year might be a brighter one than it looked.
Agree mate.
It is what it is, measures at different points etc and I always anticipated masks would come in mainly as a visual stimulus.
You either believe 'they' genuinely didn't have a clue with an approach on masks/crowded places or they intentionally give a bum steer - or a combination of both.
