Some truth in that, but, the less thick ones will have factored in the possibility of quarantine on return, so I'd guess a large percentage will be able to work from home, so it's an inconvenience rather than a ball breaker.

Like myself. I work from home so having to quarantine wouldn’t be an issue for me.

Plus I’ll be in a place where the virus is contained a lot better than here, and entry will be denied should I test positive.

Nothing brazen about going abroad where restrictions are in place.

I'm in France and would have been going to Czech to see family a week tomorrow. Now if you can tell me the R number in our little corner of rural France versus other parts of the country, that would perhaps be a start.

It's a few weeks old, but the bit we're in is the 45, but we're being treated the same as the other regions, which is logical, coz we have the best track and trace system in der world.
Carcossone? Only been in that area many years ago. Really nice. Lourdes is weird mind.

Are you flying home from the rural 45 area?

Yep. Flying into London, where the infection rate is much higher. I'm the risk though

Yeh but to me I look at it this way: if they only choose the most infected parts of France as the group that need to quarantine on return to the UK what's to stop people then driving down to less infected areas and getting a return flight from there so they don't need to quarantine? Doesn't that then put the less infected parts of France at risk from more tourists/people wanting to leave the country?

It's all or nothing in my eyes.

I wouldn't be happy being out of pocket was merely pointing out whether you go or don't go you'll still be out of pocket. *shrug*

If we go, we’re getting what we paid for.

If we don’t, it’s money going towards nothing.

What would you do in our situation?

Nobody has to do anything, but there’s room for common sense to be applied in every situation as we go on.

Not grumbling as it is what it is. Maybe ease off on the 'brazen' stuff though. ;)

Well I mean I wouldn't enjoy a holiday myself with social distancing, all the rules in restaurants/bars etc. so I wouldn't go.
