Will be interesting to see what happens with tourism, as there will be somewhat of a rebalancing with the vast majority of brits spending all of their leisure time at home for the foreseeable future.

Aye, that's true, Brit spend will fill a fair chunk of the gap, but spend per head will likely drop with visitors from the US being off the table. Airlines and holiday companies will take a big hit, though the flurry of bookings from a few weeks ago ( pre the change of heart on Spain ) showed there'll always be an appetite for squeezing onto a 737.

Bit hesitant to post this, but it is interesting information and the type that would hopefully increase the chance of governments/healthcare systems investing in health lifestyle programs and initiatives.

Much as I loathe his smug face, Bill Maher made this same point on his show and it rings true. Seems to be a big connection between weight and the severity of Covid's effects

I will lead with... discussion welcomed. Shaming, blaming, derogatory comments and similar are not.

Also lets not argue about BMI. We all know it has many short comings, but honestly in the US, the chances of a very high BMI (>40) being a lean muscle bound person are quite small.

Overall take home point, very overweight males between ages 40-60 years - y'all better be wearing a mask and washing your hands.

I'm making a huge assumption here, but I'd hazard a guess that the excess mortality seen in obese younger men with COVID compared to women of the same age mirrors the same risks from CVD in obese younger men compared to women of the same age and BMI.

So, speaking with absolutely no medical background, and no scientific reasoning behind it, my guess is that having a big belly is riskier than having big hips.

This is where we are at...totally normal, run-of-the-mill existence:

I guess there is a degree requirement now to get a better standing in heaven haha!

What a pointless exercise. So if they die after one semester as a freshman they get a degree. What nonsense. How about they pay of the debt by giving the money back?

The students families may be on the hook for it still. More often the case that it doesn't go away when they die.
