Cheers. It makes you doubt if you are doing the right thing but I think we are.

I'm quite surprised it went this far but I think a lot will be emotions that will hopefully settle.

We had two miscarriages within the last few years and my gf has had TB (reduced/weak lung capacity for life) but all of that seems to have gone out the window.

Its the hardest thing mate knowing right from wrong as a parent and in these times it's 100x harder.

Taking into account the things you've said it's understandable that your cautious.

Given the circumstances think you are doing absolutely the right thing - you (and your parents) would feel utterly awful if either your daughter/gf did catch it and you asking them to be extra cautious for a week to minimize the chances isn’t an unreasonable request. Hopefully in time the tension (and the virus risk!) eases.

Thanks, felt when I got off the phone that I was maybe overthinking it but I think a main problem is that their doing 'nothing' is different to ours

I haven't had much to say on CV in the last couple of months, but I have to say now that things are looking much less promising than the purported "best case scenario" that might have unfolded, at least looking at things from a world perspective. Total cases numbers and daily deaths are still on an upward trajectory, and the trend is now well established and constant enough to be fairly confident that it will continue for a while yet.

The US 2nd wave is well and truly underway now, and spikes in other countries are flaring up again as lockdown is abandoned.

On the plus side, it does look like we have a better idea of how best to treat the sickest patients, so the death rate remains low, but overall I'm not very optimistic, and the risks are very much of further escalation to the upside.
