There's a little card you can print out from gov/NHS, which pretty much states that you need someone to take a mask off to communicate.
I made one for my Mum, which I laminated, and she just flashes it if she can't hear someone and everyone up to now has been really accommodating with it.
She also has one that explains why she can't always wear a mask, and again most people have been very accepting. I'll ask the wife for the link for you.
