well I don’t believe it did , I think it was probably busier earlier on when you were there than later and the two busiest streets were the pedestrianised zones of castle and bold .

people seem desperate to paint the city as like Benidorm or magaluf at the height of summer but so far that just hasn’t been the case .

You may be right (about being busier earlier).

Castle street was busy, but not excessively, much less so than you’d usually see, restaurant was full, but with vastly reduced number of tables (60% they said) so well distanced.

There won't be a second wave , there won't be a winter flare up killing 100000 people and it will soon die out and normality will resume.

If a second wave did occur killing that many then the government would be responsible for a massive failure of not protecting its people.

The idea is ludicrous that it will come back and kill 2-3 times more given we have been going through it now.

I admire your optimism but the feedback from the health service is that we are in for a nightmarish winter. We are still in the first wave so spikes in this would appear to be the more likely than it disappearing in the next few weeks. It seems the worry is that the relaxing of lockdown will cause an obvious spike and this looks likely to run in parallel with the flu season.

I 100% hope that you are right though.

Given that everyone from old to unhealthy , bald and whatever else is coming from the experts , I don't really listen to every new thing that is theorised.

I go on the basis that there has been mass gatherings over and over since the start of June and there hasn't been any actual flare up. Pick the Leicester one out for example and it's lots of people in one location which is easily explainable. We haven't seen a mass surge in London or Liverpool following the gatherings.

By all means avoid them still for a while but more and more normality returns and all we get is isolated cases. Within a month it will be all fine again.

I also believe that the virus may never go away without a vaccine but we won't see levels that we have.

Absolutely at fault for the last few month and continuing on with the terrible advice such as face masks 3 months late.

Can't see them not only forgetting this year but making it 3 times as worse by the end of the year. Especially given people during the winter stay at home naturally anyway.
