You haven't made a point.I asked originally for someone to help me out with a theory knocking about. You came back with....... would it effect me FFS

Well I mean to answer the initial Q: loons.

My point was only that even if it was true why would it matter to anyone at this point. Unless you were planning on treating Chinese people different afterwards that is.

Why didn't you say that then and don't imply I would treat people differently.

I've now been selected for the National COVID Survey.

Basically i get tested 5 times in the 1st month (Test and antibody test) then the same every month after that for a year. A nurse comes and does it at my house. I get paid £450 for it too!

mental
You'd have had to have registered for that, I suppose?

why ? They’ve asked us to wear them , it takes zero effort I don’t understand the mentality.
Just so utterly baffling to me. Everyone wants to return to ”normal” and by far the simplest way of reducing the spread is for everyone to regularly wear a mask when outside their own home when they are in contact with others - even if they don’t think they themselves have it as a) you could be wrong b) we’re all in this together.

And yet it varies from the relatively mild “don’t need it/will wear one if have” all the way to the “infringing on my freedom” loons!

Just wear a damn mask for a few weeks people, it really isn’t that big of an ask in the scheme of things.

Prof Jonathan Heeney, a virologist at the University of Cambridge, said the study confirmed a growing body of evidence that immunity to Covid-19 is short-lived. “Most importantly, it puts another nail in the coffin of the dangerous concept of herd immunity,” he said.

“I cannot underscore how important it is that the public understands that getting infected by this virus is not a good thing. Some of the public, especially the youth, have become somewhat cavalier about getting infected, thinking that they would contribute to herd immunity. Not only will they place themselves at risk, and others, by getting infected, and losing immunity, they may even put themselves at greater risk of more severe lung disease if they get infected again in the years to come.”

I do hate how these guys sometimes offer no actual solutions and just deliver bad news. If immunity doesn’t last and potential vaccines may not actually be that effective as the article postulates then the solution is what exactly?

Really small sample size...still worrying.

As for vaccines, it might be end up being something like the measles vaccine (and several others) in that you need several doses to achieve longer lasting immunity.

We are only about 6 months into a new disease - that's nothing in medical terms.
