Im saying its completely unreasonable to expect people to stay at home with a cold mate.

Losing 2 days pay might not seem a lot to some, but its the difference between eating that week for others.

As I say, some people get multiple colds throughout the winter months, its not feasible at all.

I personally don't consider the pubs or beaches vital, people paying their bills is a different matter.

I realise people who work in pubs need to get paid also, that's why I've toned down my anti-pub stance a little, my view has changed now. The lockdown did its job, it flattened the curve, now its about getting the country back on its feet and people taking sick days for a cold doesn't help that.

I feel like I need to rant.

As a keyworker, I've been working my arse off and my workload doubled over the past few months. This at the same time when a vast majority of the country's workforce were paid and some are still continuing to be paid 80% of their wages just to sit on their backside at home all day. It's also likely that I'm going to be paying more in taxes as a result of the virus. Paying for those who were lucky enough to be furloughed.

I'm not resentful of those who were furloughed, I mean, who wouldn't enjoy being sat at home all day whilst still being paid 80% of their wages? However, us keyworkers have not been looked after by this government, at all. Yeah we get the occasional 'thank you' but so what? In what tangible way is that going to help?

I can empathise with that. The missus has had roughly 3x the workload over the past few months, and with the government throwing money around left, right and centre, all she gets is a clap. The NHS is a use and abuse culture from managers, from politicians and from the public. All the talk about caring for it really is just talk, and I wouldn't recommend anyone work for it.

That and changing the mindset of people that working while ill is some kind of badge of honour.

There was some research about this a while back, and perhaps unsurprisingly, men are far worse for that.

Not to mention putting your health at risk every day on top. It must also annoy you seeing some of them partying and going to the beach too. I can understand that mate.

However a lot of those people will not actually have been enjoying themselves, espeytbose living on their own. Many will be worrying about their jobs, some will have been told they don't have one.

People are effected in different ways by this crisis. I try and focus on the positives and that way I tend not to get too worked up about other people because you realise many are actually worse off than you.

When you stack her intelligence, ability and calmness up against some of the crackheads in power at the moment, you wonder how any country could look at the likes of Boris or Trump and go "yeah, that's our guy"

In fairness women throughout this virus have shown themselves to be far stronger and focused leaders than many of there male counterparts.
We along with the USA , Brazil and Sweden are vying for the most incompetent.
At this stage I would give that award to the Bleach slugger but the Walter Mitty of Westminster could still come up on the rails.

Similar situation to you .... I’ve had to work right through this pandemic, no choice really. Our company don’t do the furlough scheme so you have to come to work or you don’t get paid, if I was to catch covid I would obviously have to stay at home and receive about 90 quid a week ssp..... who can live on that ?

Even before this pandemic people should have been encouraged to stay away from work if they’re sick. Far too many people go to work sick as it is. Even just cold & flu can knock an office on its arse but people feel like they’re committing a crime staying off with it.

Those days are long gone, more and more jobs are now what is classed insecure work gig economy, and at a guess, jobs that put people at the cold front of this virus. Many people will have to make an economic choice above their health coworkers and public.

I'm lucky in my job, full contracted work. If I were unable to work with 6 months full and 6month half pay. However, they would finish me after the year regardless of illness. Some years I've had 3 colds, if I were off 3 times I would be in an interview regarding my ability to continue in my job.

There is no such as being sick for work now it's your fitness to continue while being sick and that has been a political choice in recent times.

She's so far above our politicians(of all parties) in ability. It's shameful that some anti-EU people were comparing Germany's present leaders to the Third Reich.

Johnson went to Oxford so is clearly not daft, so I'm inclined to think it's less a matter of intellect as it is general humility. There's a clear sense of entitlement and detachment in not only Johnson but Gove and others like them. They simply have no connection with the lives of normal people, and no intention to try and understand them.
