In all fairness though. There have been scenes like his in Germany and the caseload doesn’t seem to have significantly increased. Whether that’s because it’s mainly outdoors or mainly young people who don’t get badly infected enough to be tested I don’t know

Well we've thrashed them in terms of Covid deaths. So at least and at last again, we beat Germany.... Germany 9081 - United Kingdom 44198.

Honestly, not a good comparison.

Actually having spent the last few mins on Twitter it does seem to be a larger scale of crowding than I’ve seen over here although I’ve seen a few bars where they’re all packed together like that

Don't follow the Tory's and their herd.

I'm not even going to follow Welsh first minister Drakeford and his advice when it comes to family and friends identified as high risk from tomorrow/Monday.

And maybe we are at now where we should have been from the start of the UK's response. As in hygiene face masks and gatherings. It's not rocket science in how any virus that's as transferable as Covid moves through a population.

Testing negative doesn’t exempt you from the rules.

Indeed. But throughout the whole of this Pandemic I cannot recall any input, suggestion or comment By this nonentity of a LibDem leader. The only thing he’s done is snitch on a member of the public (he’s not an MP nor even an active politician), which just about sums up his political contribution......

......not sure if others have thought similar, but for me this whole episode is a realisation of how vulnerable the human race is.

I agree mate , apart from the potential of a virus that could wipe out the planet you have financial side that could lead to massive job losses and mass riots and looting.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Don’t forget the Nukes......I’m definitely going the pub later.....

Tories tactic of getting the public to blame eachother and take responsibility away from themselves is working then.

It’s not possible to think this whole crisis has been managed horribly by the government whilst also thinking that easy individual person has their own degree of personal responsibility?

Honestly this to me is not much different than Kopites coming up with excuses for what they did in town last week or the people crowding the beaches. At some point you have to look at yourself and your own behaviour.

If you want to make the case that we should still be under a strict lockdown then that’s fine. To me it’s like a 90/10 split, meaning that the government obviously takes massive responsibility for everything that’s gone on during this crisis. It’s probably even higher. But there’s still a small percentage which falls on the public and each individual to do the best they can.

Quick edit. :https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...-say-police-in-england?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

This article basically sums up my position. Drunk people can’t social distance? Duhhh. Whose fault is that? The governments for opening the pubs up or the people who can’t limit their alcohol intake?

Indeed, the government have been crap, but if you lack the brains to think going into a crowded pub is perhaps not something you have to do right now then you're a clown. The state exists to help us, not to nanny us.

Of course there is some public element to it, but the push for ' independence day' was solely on the government. It gives way for all day today too.

Just start it on Monday, helps the staff too. I know the pubs could do but it's not that easy.

Whilst I agree with your sentiments, we have laws and a police force precisely because not everyone can be trusted to do the right thing.

For sure, but equally, as an ostensibly liberal country, we're less draconian with those laws than elsewhere, which is ordinarily a good thing. For what it's worth, on our walk along the south bank yesterday, the few bars we passed didn't seem too bad, and the tea house we went to was fairly quiet. This was in the afternoon though. The police appear to have said things weren't too bad, so hopefully it's just isolated examples being shared on Twitter.

Anyone declaring anything a second wave should be executed and their death should lead to a subtraction from the overall Covid death number.

Fed up with bellwhiffs declaring everything a second wave. The absolute neeks on Twitter acting like mother hens are just the worst kind of people.

Yeah Im a big believer of if you are that worried just stay away likewise if you are happy to take the risk go out.

End of the day we are all adults and should have the choice - we've also been in lockdown for 3 months so I dont get how long Karen expected us to be in one.

I said at the time the 80 furlough was a Godsend however it created a mentality for "im alright on this jack" of people happy to stay in lockdown and not have to work.
