Leicester staying in lockdown

Yes

No easing on July 4th and lockdown reimposed. All non essential shops closed, schools still open for essential workers' kids only and pubs not allowed to open. Advice is against all but essential travel in Leicester. Further measures will follow if social distancing isn't maintained. More testing capacity will be sent to Leicester.

Situation will be reviewed after two weeks

Seven day average actually rose last week...

It's rising in around 30 of the 150 or so English districts but falling in most of the others, the places where it's rising are accounting for virtually all the rise.

Lancashire had only 1 case and Essex similar over the period, it's not all urban poor places with Sunderland also extremely low but mostly it is.

It's centred in East Leicester as opposed to the whole of Leicester where theres a tougher generally poorer environment, with high inter generational mixing and flats rather than houses. Population density and poor social distancing help spread the virus so there's a perfect storm to do so there.

It's why all these demonstrations, raves, packed beaches and football celebrations aren't helping

Doncaster is another hard hit but there are around 30 in all of concern

I give up.

The good news is that you'd think with most of the flights grounded at least that won't have already spread like fire.

It is crystal clear that someone is out to get us though. I'm expecting the asteroid next if this fails. Fair's fair we really have ballsed this life thing up and deserve what is coming.

Although the Spirit of Shankley have released a statement to God saying that it is a minority of people that have probably bussed in from another planet that have caused all the trouble. So we may get away with it yet.
