No easing on July 4th and lockdown reimposed. All non essential shops closed, schools still open for essential workers' kids only and pubs not allowed to open. Advice is against all but essential travel in Leicester. Further measures will follow if social distancing isn't maintained. More testing capacity will be sent to Leicester.

The good news is that you'd think with most of the flights grounded at least that won't have already spread like fire.

Yes it's inevitable that'll happen as some just don't realise the importance of trying to save further victims lives by cutting the sources off and giving them no room to spread.

There are idiots everywhere who think s night out more important but it can't effectively be enforced and is essentially reliant on people's good nature to take responsibility.

As we've seen from all the demonstrations, packed beaches, football celebrations and block parties and raves, some thing Covid isn't the priority.

The parts of Leicester that are being hit hardest by the virus are predominately Asian, so they're less likely to be desperate for a pint.

You would hope that a majority of the population will see that people from Leicester are currently five to ten times more likely to be admitted to hospital with COVID than most other areas and take it seriously. Plainly a, probably significant, minority will do as they please, but you can't legislate for stupidity ( well, you can, but we don't have the police to enforce it ).
