The government could take £20 out of every employees pay packet as a yearly one off payment for their jab. People would take it up if the know they’ve paid for it.......
Especially if it was an automatic opt in. Anyone not wanting to do it would still have the opportunity to opt out but if not then the contribution happens - regardless of if someone actually has the jab.

Nice article that - one thing I’d add however from personal experience is that when you’ve gone through this disease the one thing that you really start to notice is when your breathing is even slightly affected. Masks do that (obviously).

I’ve only done a few tube and Overground trips since it became mandatory to wear a mask and found it really uncomfortable; and that’s in the relatively mild weather not a heatwave like we are apparently going to have this week.

I do wonder how the advances in understanding how to cure the disease would affect any second wave. Things like the use of steroids, avoiding ventilatiors apart from in worse case scenarios etc. Arguably the mortality rate will have decreased exponentially.
You can see that this is already happening, worldometer shows that the reported rate of infection is still increasing but reported death rate is decreasing.

The missus amuses herself when we're out and about pointing out the number of people who are wearing them wrong. You'd think it would be quite straightforward, but all manner have them on inside out, upside down, only covering the mouth (sometimes just on the chin for some reason), and so on.

Plus they`re constantly fiddling with them and touching their face.

People wearing them in the car by themselves still makes me laugh.

I can understand that to an extent after @RAFUH highlighted that it's ideal to not be taking it on and off, so you should be leaving it on for the duration of your journey, and then washing your hands etc. when you get home and remove it. Whether those folk are wearing it as a result of such logic however is another matter.

Seen an arl fella yesterday had cut a hole in his mask so he could still smoke while wearing it

Yeah awful to wear, we have to wear them all day in work, except for break times of course, long day 11 hours with one of them on.
