I'm not dismissing anything going on when I say this.
A lot of people do seem to forget that for millions potentially , they have not seen this virus. Not known anyone directly who has had it and not got it themselves.
Something to consider when you talk about people's mentality 3 months down the line.
This is a good point.
I have gone to being extremely worried about it, mostly for my elderly parents, through late February and March and April, but being less concerned now. I have been able to work from home, I am being cautious in my daily activities and observe all of the "rules".
But that's just my perspective. I know of just one person in my locality who had the virus and recovered. The lack of intrusion of the virus in your life naturally means you feel less threatened over time.
It's still out there but diminishing. But the risk is real and for me, it's the risk I would contract it and pass it to my parents being the biggest worry still. I can't just say I'm alright jack. I don't want to get it either.
Its a bit like going back to early March now with case levels and people then very much thought caution and restrictions were fully justified.
I'm not saying at all that restrictions should not reduce to reflect a generally decreased threat and infection rate either but it hasn't gone away either. The risks remain very real and acute for a lot of people, and those people are dependent on others who may not be in the firing line as much to continue to be responsible.
