Err, no, I was just married there

Firstly, I'm not commenting on their record on Covid, and I don't believe the protests against Babis are related to that either. They're related to him being as bent as a nine bob note. I can just imagine your uproar if Johnson not only owned News Corp, but had a conglomerate that was pocketing huge subsidies from the EU. You complain enough that the media are biased towards the Tories as it is, without the prime minister actually owning the main media company in the country. That is why people in Czech don't like Babis, but I'm sure you knew that.

Secondly, the situation is not exactly the same, is it? As shown this week, most of the cases here were from people coming from Italy, Spain and France to the UK. None of those countries provide a large number of in-bound tourists or other visitors to Czech, especially in February. Instead, most of the Czech infections were from Czech nationals returning from skiing trips to Italy and Austria, of which the numbers were inevitably lower.

Thirdly, while they have had low infections, they've also been heavily criticised internally for the lack of financial support offered, for prostrating themselves to China for often dodgy equipment, and for a generally lo-tech response (many doctors appointments were still conducted face-to-face, for instance, as it was either that or a telephone call).

So you did get mugged.....

Talks about dropping 2 meters to 1 in the news. I suppose pubs and restaurants and even schools need this to function effectively.

I was talking with the owner of a large and very successful restaurant and he will not bother to open if it remains at 2 metres, he is preparing redundancies just in case. I believe it will change to 1 metre before July, but if it doesn’t then our place will remain closed.....

It is going to get a lot worse unfortunately.

Without a sensible programme of government intervention, certainly.

A good place to start would be to get every UK airline to replace every aircraft more than ten (or five if we really want to be thorough) years old and where the cabin cannot have some element of social distancing, and help them buy more efficient, more suitable (in the current climate) aircraft off Airbus. The same could be done for cars and vans, getting the more polluting vehicles off the road and scrapped whilst helping car firms here keep going.

Getting many more track and trace teams would also be a big help - we should be looking at a system that can get people to your door 90% of the time within an hour of you reporting symptoms, this would mean around 70-80000 people but they'd be employed and would help the rest of us stay employed by keeping the economy open when this disease comes back.

It's staggering to me that they haven't been dragged out of Westminster and hung from the nearest lampost.

Imagne this scenario: 66,000 people below the age of 15 had been killed by their inactions. There would be riots until they were hung.

But for some reason, because it's predominantly old people dying, it's accepted and the murderer gets to see out the rest of his murderous plan - currently killing between 200-300 people per day.

WTF type of society do we live in when that doesn't go unpunished?

For god's sake Dave, get a grip.

It's hanged. A picture is hung.
