My hair clippers have arrived, but am slightly alarmed at the instructions. I guess the translation from Chinese is to blame, but they warn me, amongst other things, to slow down as I approach my tigers mouth.

:Blink:

I think that's in case your bird uses it to trim her bikini line.

And I didn't. I said that given the advice from HR, I would not be attending unless (as per their advice) there was a necessity for it beyond him deciding it's ok because he doesn't believe in homeworking. For example, if I had to physically demonstrate something to a supplier.

If it were you, who's advice would you follow? Your boss or the people who have written the policy in conjunction with the unions and the government's medical advice?

My direct boss. HR depts are glorified agony aunts with no power at all in a company. They can adivse and write what ever guidance they like... it means nothing compared to Management

He can if they’re endangering his wellbeing without necessity, and if he informed the council or HSE about their actions they would be in deep poop.

how are the endangering his well being? the risk from even catching COVID19 is miniscule.

We have already set our policy at work, with guidance from the UK Government from Furlough return. Anyone who refuses to come back will face disciplinary action. That is from the UK government's guidance

Can you work from home ?

As do I. HR companies have considerable strength in most modern businesses. Particularly larger ones with shareholders. Whether they should have or not is another question...

ha ha ha, no they don't. They are there to help out upper management NOT the other way around.

@Toast

Have supermarkets been told they can have more customers inside?

Sainsburys certainly seemed fuller, but they are still using the queue system to get in. Just no queue today, at all.
