What is so important that your willing to wait at the back of a 5 mile queue to get into IKEA,why not get what you want online if your that desperate.

Had to laugh at this one, especially when she has a fume and says "What on Earth do this many people need?!?!?!" When she says she was only after a desk to finish her exams on. Why can't she finish her exams without a desk! lol

Are you mad?! Their 60 quid flat rate for delivery whether you buy a kitchen or a lamp will deter all but the rich and the ignorant from having their goods home delivered. There's a taxi firm with 3 vans at my local one who do the same for 30 Euro and make an absolute killing.

HM Murder Gang's Orwellian use of language:

From 'we are being guided by the science', it's now we are working from 'the consensus from scientists'.

Isn't that how following scientific guidance works? Every scientific conclusion in public policy relies (one hopes) on scientific consensus.

Not sure how anyone would know for certain.
There are no certainties in sciuence; it's all in a flux and can be disproven. However, common sense told you that, as at every point when discrepancies occurred between 'races' it's always usually down to socio-economic and cultural factors.

It's their way of addressing the fact that there's been a revolt amongst the science community over the last few days regarding the wisdom of unlocking society and the economy...and they are playing fast and loose with the word "consensus"...that rests firmly against what the murderers are doing.

Alright for Ikea workers being back in, we at Primark, as of coming up to 4pm, haven’t been given a copy of the statement issued by our CEO 8 hours ago confirming we would be reopening in 2 weeks much less any information about opening times and other issues yet they are telling all and sundry on social media

Dead funny some people turning up at their local Ikea store then fuming because it was busy. lol

IKEA stores reopen for first time since March as shoppers join miles-long queues

Thousands of eager shoppers braved miles-long queues from the early hours to access IKEA stores as they opened for the first time since March.

Lines snaked around car parks across the country as the Swedish retail giant opened 19 of its UK outlets today.

London consumers complained of enduring five-mile queues in the searing heat in Croydon, while shoppers arriving to discover the Wembley queue took to social media to complain: “What on earth do this many people need?”

In Warrington, customers reportedly arrived at 5.40am, ahead of the store’s 9am opening time.

Some had brought chairs to sit on, and by the time of opening, a line of more than 1,000 people snaked around the car park.

The queues were reminiscent of those previously seen pre-lockdown outside London’s designer stores for launches of limited edition fashion lines.

One Londoner who attempted to access the Croydon store this morning wrote: “Gone to Ikea in Croydon Cos my dad wanted to go and we’ve already been waiting like 40 mins”.

Some of the largest queues were seen in the Belfast opening, which were patrolled by social distance wardens.

Two customers, Samantha Fisher and her daughter Atlanta, from Groomsport, near Bangor in Co Down, queued from 8am in order to shop for a bedroom they wanted to furnish which had lain empty for weeks during the pandemic lockdown.

Ms Fisher said: "I wanted my dressing table. My room is empty because I did it up a few months ago and it is just a big space ready for it to go in. So that will be my husband's job tonight, to build it and put it together."
Omg.... I must have a dressing table...first world problems. WTAF??

Didn't you mention them as a risk factor? It was then stated that it may be a socio-economic risk, not one that's genetically inherent.
I said that they're at a higher risk of being seriously ill from covid. Which is true. I have never said that this was in any way genetic and have previously said in these pages that the higher risk could easily be explained in socioeconomic terms.

When you make a post and somebody replies with part of the wording highlighted, it's fairly normal to assume that any accompanying comments were directed at you. He's explained they weren't. Topic closed
