Yep, we were trending up with peak expected early June. We knew this as we started opening up.
Dem governor didn’t have much choice. Too many folks would have stopped lockdown regardless and we’d have had gun toting loons running around the capitol and city halls...something bad was sure to happen.

At least this way it is a bit more controlled.

I was out yesterday and is was very busy....very few masks, poor social distancing.

If social media was real life I would probably be in prison by now. So many comments by morons making me so angry.

It's 1:30 in the morning and I am raging at my screen calling Steve McDonald from Corrie a stupid m headed c word.

I think I have been locked in doors for too long.

Thankfully most of the people on here are decent minded.

They keep saying stupid things that they cant live up to. 100,000 tests a day (failed), tracing app (apparently gone awol), rescinding fines (highly unlikely), 200,000 tests a day by 1st June (no chance), procuring ppe (disastrous), reopening schools (has huge opposition). If cummings is considered vital and excellent at his job one cant imagine how bad it would be when he is inevitably booted out.

Not to defend Johnson (because he has been crap) but he just has found himself standing when the music stopped, in terms of some of these failures.

Decades of cuts, underfunding, outsourcing, sell-offs and the rest have resulted in big swathes of the government being not really up to the test when something like this happens. Some bits have been ok, but they are usually the same bits where HMG actually employs and can command people to do things.

Where it doesn’t (because of outsourcing or buying in) it’s gone less well in a lot of places.

....Johnson appearing before today’s Liaison Committee should be of interest, although as I posted some days ago, I’d like to see Cummings being interrogated.
