It would be very interesting to see if that would be covered by FOI - I think it probably would be, if it was a journalist asking and just for the one index.
They would never disclose the exact locations, but they could ask for how many times this plate has been read and in what counties and in/on these dates.

Yet, they may hide behind data protection (national security) if he gets any 'protection'* (restricted on PNC*) or ANPR is for police purposes and not journalists.

*I suspect his reg will have this now if it didn't already.

FOI does not cover personal cases. Any data that indicates an individual is subject to exemptions.

They would just doctor the info anyway. Happens all the time.

I should get back into FOI actually...
 
I thought at the time that Pestons question was so long and full of waffle that it completely let Johnson off the hook.

I checked back and it was about 70 seconds long. What was he doing like
 
I don't think so mate, we don't know that, a number plate isn't personal data in and of itself, but in some circumstances, including this one it would identify an individual so it would fall under GDPR, and a decision to disclose under that legislation.

Normally yes, but he has denied going up there - even if the FOI decision is refused, it would get judicially reviewed and come out that way.
