Peace in our time levels now.
I think we're witnessing the Prime Minister lose the support of the population in front of our very eyes.

Quite possibly the worst performance by any PM I've ever witnessed.

He repeated the same statement umpteen times and not directly answering one single question about Cummings

Total shambles of a press conference

Johnson has literally just announced to the Nation that he’s Cummings bitch.

He can’t sack him and risk him going feral, as the bloke is a complete maverick and he could blow the thing to pieces.

So Cummings can do as he likes, and he stays for as long as he wants. That’s essentially it.

Such control

No you're right, we cannot blame the Government for every misstep, but they do set the strategy for the UK. They should be listening to advice and evidence, challenging and scrutinising.

They were right to change strategy when they did, but they adopted the wrong one to begin with. In the balance of economy vs health, there should only be one winner.
That was the start of our discussion.
Our discussion was about what government strategy is. You said it favours the economy over lives. I disagreed.

To the best of my knowledge you and I have never discussed herd immunity and Cummings role in it. So why would you link that post yesterday with our discussion. They are 2 different matters and it isn't as if I can't have a different opinion on both is it.

I suspect he wouldn't be there without Cummings because it's his adviser who was manipulated the party and political climate over the past few years.

I've said it before and it's not hyperbole: Cummings is the de-factor leader of the Tory party and we know what that means.

What we have just witnessed is the live admission of that. He essentially had strings on his shoulders or Cummings’s forearm up his backside.

It wouldn't be.

I think it would - the public interest is massive, and they aren't asking for any personal information (given that they already know its his car).

They might have already done it too, given the delay between this happening and the story breaking.

...I imagine the answer will be that it was after the 14 day isolation. Dancing on a pin.

Doesn't matter if he was in isolation or not.

At that time, it was essential travel only, and, nice as Barnard Castle is, there's nothing there which makes a 50 mile roundtrip essential. Plus, if they tried to argue they stopped there on their way back to London, that would be a heck of a distance out of their way.

If he went to Barnard Castle, he broke the rules.

I don't think so mate, we don't know that, a number plate isn't personal data in and of itself, but in some circumstances, including this one it would identify an individual so it would fall under GDPR, and a decision to disclose under that legislation.
