This is one of the cruelest things I’ve experienced professionally during the pandemic, it’s going to have long term complicated grief consequences.

In our place we’re letting one person in at end of life, full PPE with Covid and risk acknowledgement and their movements are restricted and managed.

If end of life without Covid, 2 at a time during restrictions, with masks.

It’s still horrible, there are many who know they have limited futures, who haven’t seen their family in two months, apart from facetime etc. It’s a real disenfranchising of the anticipatory grief process and enforced separation within a limited prognosis is going to create so many complex bereavements in the future. It’s not being there at the end its the weeks and months they will have missed together. It’s cruel And creating a raw pain.

I can logic it out in Restricting the spread of Covid, protecting the most vulnerable vs those who are being separated from someone they love for weeks and months when they may be the final ones. The human pain this has created we are only beginning to see now but, we will be seeing complex griefs well into the future.

Well said. Not allowing the emotion relieving experience of a proper send off and a wake also causes pain to those other family members, friends and associates within the overall grieving process. It’s a dreadful experience.....

Ah, I do like it when journalists don't publish everything in one go - here's the rope Mr Cummings, you don't know yet, but on the end of the rope is a noose.

Will Johnson give him a last minute pardon, or does he value his own career more than that of his mate ?
There is nowhere for the Government to go here other than denial of any new allegations. Medical necessity or extreme circumstances may be defensible once, but not twice.

Government seems more concerned about the career of that weirdo Cummings than the do about the lives of its subjects
They’re buried in him - literally. The man is a maverick, and has been at the heart of the lies and deception that first delivered Brexit, then their new term in office, and he’s most recently been at the heart of their COVID strategy. If he decided to blab he’d bring the entire house of cards down.

I'd like to think we will have twelve hours more of comical defence before the Guardian / Mirror combination do something like reveal their main witnesses are the Queen, Sir Tom and the ghostly form of Winston Churchill and that they can prove beyond any doubt whatsoever that Cummings not only went to Durham twice but is also the Croydon Cat Killer.

The second story bomb is an old ploy in journalism; you have to ask yourself how politicians 'fell' for it. My guess is that they want to provoke the general reaction of "Ah, wtf, the lockdown's over".

This government have been working on loosening the ties to the original 'stay at home' message for the last fortnight.

Ive come across that to mate after the person has died. Funerals are needed by the community and society to acknowledge loss, grieve and to offer support to those closest, equally for those closest and family it’s an opportunity to honor their life, wishes and respect their beliefs and receive support.

Currently over here there are 10 people allowed at a funeral and social distancing, no hugs or arms around the shoulder, locally undertakers aren’t doing morning cars due to Covid. It’s awful for people. I’ve seen situations were cremations have taken place with just family. In the time ahead they will bring ashes to a church and have a respectful memorial service where wider family and community can pay respects, offer support and grieve.

The whole thing is a recipie for disenfranchised anticipatory and bereavement grief.

Not been on here for a while. Has our @peteblue been defending The Cumdog and Boris today? lol

All day my friend, I nearly had them all convinced to let him off as well........on the plus side it achieved the aim of burying the news of Boris’ U turn on Huawei and 5G......brilliant idea by Cummings to do the second trip and leak it........

I think they'll have video or pictorial evidence
