....Starmer already holding the high ground of debates that I’ve seen which is a far cry from the exchanges with Corbyn.
In fairness it's hard for him not to. Although I'm sure the vast vast majority of Labour supporters would much rather this virus didn't happen, there's no doubt that politically it's helped them bridge the gap to the Tories much quicker than they could ever have expected. If there were to be another election in the next 12 months you would expect a Starmer lead Labour Party to come very close.

MPQT has certainly become more like an episode of Crown Court since he took over, and I like the fact that he isn't being too hard on the government in their managing of this crisis. He's clever enough to realise that he doesn't need to be, that the Government are struggling badly. In behaving this way he is endearing himself to the moderates, the millions who voted for Labour in the Blair era.

Personally, I would also like to see him come up with some constructive recommendations for the government to how they can combat this virus. It is a national crisis like we haven't seen before in our lifetime and I'd like to see more solidarity amongst our politicians to help combat it. Instead of just saying we need more tests, come up with some suggestions to how we can increase them. Same with suggestions with how we can get more PPE, how we can introduce an effective TTI strategy. I haven't seen enough of this, although I can understand why they would want to distance themselves from a failing government, so they can pick up the pieces later. I would be saying exactly the same if the parties roles were reversed in this crisis.

From the BBC's report on this:

Labour's Rachel Reeves said: "The British people do not expect there to be one rule for them and another rule for the prime minister's most senior adviser."

It maybe should read:

Labour's Rachel Reeves said: "The British people do not expect there to be one rule for them and another rule for the establishment apart from Tories who think that it is their birthright."
She's obviously got no idea how this country runs.
