So you would be happy, if you had symptoms, to travel 250 miles to visit your vulnerable parent, ignoring the rules that the government had put in place?

Do you not think the rules are there for a reason? To protect yourself and others? (Including your parent in this scenario).

Would you not trust the government that it was necessary?

No, I would not. I would never put someone else in a position of danger....

A Tory minister,Simon Clarke, the MP for Middlesborough South and East Cleveland has sparked outcry on Twitter after suggesting that Dominic Cummings' son could have been "taken into state care" if he had not travelled 260 miles to Durham.

Disgraceful to even suggest this in defence of Cummings.

Surely a government minister shouldn't be admitting that 'state care' is a bad thing for children when their parents can't look after them without pulling up trees to rectify the situation?

Oh, wait, it's just for plebs and who gives a flying what happens to them.

Sorry I think I must have misinterpreted this:

‘....and his reaction to a family problem is what we would all do.‘

What did you mean by this?

If my son and his wife had coronavirus and they also had a child, I would tell him to bring the child to me.....

He's the kingmaker in this tory party it would appear.

Though i think Campbell's demise started when he became the story rather than the man who directed the stories, if i were a tory mp I'd be keeping quiet

Well, funny you should mention him.....

Then you should contact the constabulary and they will tell you go away and stop wasting police time......
If a hospital or nursing home told you you couldn't see a dying relative what would you do?

Because prior to Government changing guidelines mid April, that's exactly what others had to deal with.

Skype? Zoom? Because you wouldn't have got access otherwise

Now you are changing scenarios because you realise you have been an idiot....

You see you’ve flipped this around now for some reason as this isn’t the analogy I used.

if I had covid, I wouldn’t go and visit my parents (I have a young child too). I wouldn’t want to risk their lives and the lives of others. I would self isolate. in fact, I don’t have covid and I made a decision not to do a similar thing despite an extremely difficult family situation (much worse than covid).

So I’ll ask again, if you had covid, would you drive to stay with your parents knowing that there is a possibility that you could infect them (and many others)?
