I know you're winding people up as you've no way to excuse his behaviour, but what message do you think that sends to someone who may have had a parent die and been unable to visit them in the final moments?

I have diligently obeyed all advice given on this virus. My parents are dead, however if one were still alive and dying, there isn’t a power on this planet that would have stopped me being with them........

A Tory minister,Simon Clarke, the MP for Middlesborough South and East Cleveland has sparked outcry on Twitter after suggesting that Dominic Cummings' son could have been "taken into state care" if he had not travelled 260 miles to Durham.

Disgraceful to even suggest this in defence of Cummings.
One of the weirder stratagies to defend a very blatant error

And the thing is, we all. Wouldn't have done it. I was incredibly ill in February and I didn't take my daughter to my parents house. YOU would've because you consider yourself an exception to the rule, which is probably why you don't think it's a big issue - because you see a kindred spirit in Cummings, but no doubt you'll decry the other 'idiots' ignoring the Government advice to suit their own notions of what's acceptable.

He's genuinely one of the most selfish human beings I've ever encountered. Of course he would

Aren't you, despite isolating, tutoring your grand daughter who doesn't live with you?

And I suspect the local constabulary might disagree.

I don't understand why all these people are falling on their swords to protect someone who would be the first person to stab them in the back
He's the kingmaker in this tory party it would appear.

Though i think Campbell's demise started when he became the story rather than the man who directed the stories, if i were a tory mp I'd be keeping quiet

So you would be happy, if you had symptoms, to travel 250 miles to visit your vulnerable parent, ignoring the rules that the government had put in place?

Do you not think the rules are there for a reason? To protect yourself and others? (Including your parent in this scenario).

Would you not trust the government that it was necessary?

You are an idiot....
