Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Speaking to a dog breeder when out with the dog today and he said that he put an advertisement out for labrador pups last week and within 24 hours he had received 63 requests!

Going to be a hell of alot of dogs in shelters in the coming months when these muppets "can no longer give the time to their little angel due to work commitments"

Horrible stuff especially with breeders taking advantage and asking for silly money at the moment due to the demand.

I shall not be buying a 2nd dog until atleast September/October when every bugger is back at work.

Eustice will have to get the easten Europeans over to pick his fruit asap before this 3 months too late quarantine kicks in.

if this is true, then this is both worrying and not exactly unexpected:

You’d have thought that a combo of
a) alternate weeks for pupils
b) weekly PCR testing of teachers
c) increased cleaning of facilities especially areas like bathrooms where classes overlapped
would have been a decent way to reassure both teachers and parents that safety was being taken seriously yet still address concerns about checking on vulnerable/at risk kids.

If they'd even gone for a phased return which spread out over time, I think teachers and schools would have been more supportive of the decision to open more.

Setting an arbitrary date, claiming it was safe but taking a week and a bit (or is it now two?) to come up with the scientific evidence and offering no real flexibility...

... well it's not a way to win the population over. All reports suggest that there wasn't going to be a big uptake either, so it's only been counter-productive.

It has, and releasing this just makes all this "we are following the scientific advice" obviously a lie.
