The legal consequences of them not using the first wave to build capacity / resolve known issues for the subsequent waves is a really good point. You’d think they’d not have a leg to stand on, but no doubt they’ll bring some form of legal escape chute into play.

I don't honestly know what's being done to prepare for any second wave. As you say, hopefully lessons will have been learned, but we'll see.

Possibly it’s just mothballing what’s been used this time, but there really should be a lot more done than that. These contact tracers for example are going to have to be roles that become permanent.

No they’re not doing anything wrong, but why you’d queue on the hottest day of the year for mass-produced, processed food is questionable.
Each to their own really. I wouldn’t. But then I wouldn’t choose to do a lot of things.

slagging people off for it is proper elitist.

(that’s not directed at you by the way, the guy who tweeted).

Re McDonalds, no one is actually doing anything wrong there.

the tweets bashing it are just elitist af.

If it's elitist to wonder why on earth you'd queue for hours in a hot metal box to eat crap food that tastes of nothing then I'm a dreadful snob. Especially when there's probably a hundred local businesses within a 15 minute drive that would really appreciate your trade.

That is not a logical conclusion.

As I alluded to previously, if you drive to the shop you are risking more lives than you are risking by putting a bare hand out in the shop.

If your argument is you cannot be too cautious then you shouldn’t be going to the shop at all. You should be in total isolation having your food delivered.

Most people will follow the science and the science currently suggests that surface contact spread is highly unlikely and that wearing gloves when shopping does nothing to prevent spread more so than using soap before you leave the house and soap when you get home.

I would get food delivered if there were any slots free over the next few weeks so no alternative but to go.
