After digesting last nights statement from BoJo it appears the only way we’re getting out of this mess alive is with the production of a safe and effect vaccine.

As you were.

There has definitley been a FULL return to the herd immunity plan. The undermining of Ferguson and his forced resignation last week should have given the game away.

I understand the thinking behind sending reception year kids back, my son is in reception and it's an important year, it's vital preparation for "real" school, beginning in year one, and it concerns me how my lad, who has some minor behavioural issues, is going to cope in year 1, if he has to miss the rest of reception.

However, they all sit on the carpet together, they hug, they play close together. We're talking about 4 and 5 year old kids. There's no hope of getting them to do any social distancing. It's risible. Schools can't even prevent the spread of nits, how are they going to stand a chance against this?

Got Raab waffling on now that it's actually Wednesday that the lower classes go back to work not today.. Astounding a pre planned address to the nation cannot even convey a simple message of when.
Imagine Churchills famous speech written today - "We will fight them on the Aldi carparks, er… I mean playgrounds, er … I mean pedestrianised town centres, no I mean probably (weather permitting) on the Beaches"

It's not safe to do so. Take a look at the death toll.

But the rates of infection have plateaued over the last few weeks and the rate of daily deaths is going down (albeit slowly).

Were you slagging off Italy and Spain for attempting to starting to lift their lockdowns a few weeks back?

I honestly dont think there is any other way mate. Countries are starting to ease lockdowns but at some point the R level everywhere will naturally increase.

I dont think Lockdown even in the most strictest form would have saw off the virus.

I still predict that by the time they find a vaccine we'll either have achieved herd immunity or the virus will have mutated to a weaker strain and we can just live amongst it and/or it dies off naturally.

Those waiting for a vaccine will be staying indoors until atleast 2021 imo.

Well, the fact that there are nearly 0 cases in under 9s worldwide should spare them at least the effects of the virus. If their parents are social distancing effectively then any spread should be limited to those households.
