Hundreds dead again, testing target not met again, still no quarantining - but here's a cycle path we hope to open in 2021.

You utter scum.

It does seem a bit of a weird priority, I have to say.

Like I can buy the idea that if they loosen the lock down, (sic), and encourage more folk back to work, then making cycling and that more easier than a train or a tube is not the worst idea ever.

Just not sure if you have to get a bus train or tube to work, you would have to be Chris Hoy to be able to cycle there anyrate.

Setting up a system of contact tracers would seem to be a) quicker to implement b) reduce the disease spread c) employ more of currently out of work and has the advantage of being shown effective in other countries but UK appears to prefer making footpaths a few inches wider???

You can’t have a state pension until you’re closing 70, but go to work on your bike. I’ve just hit 60 and reasonably fit, but the joints are definitely wearing out, especially the knees

Leccy scooter is an option. Will be ace in November that. Or next week if the weather forecast is a little bit right.

Their work is done, they got 100k tests out in 1 day, thats all they wanted, open everything back up, we won.

I think the media are largely to blame too. We had tabloids the other day with utterly sensationalist stories about everything being lifted for for the bank holiday and saying we could go sunbathing and the like.

People say there's been mixed messaging, but if the media print something different every day and are obsessed with being ahead of announcements, is it any wonder people are confused.

The coverage of this from the media has been dreadful imo. And that's been across the board, both pro and anti government sources.

Agree with this. Also the way they shamed the police for stopping people breaking the lockdown. The police should have been much tougher.

I wonder what a social distancing compliant tandem would be like

We already have the design, stick a seat on the little 1 and off we go.
