Did you even listen to the science guy and the medical expert?

If we lock the country down now then things can/will still get a lot worse over the next few weeks.
Locking down the country for a couple of weeks is going to devastate the economy. Imagine having to expend that for a further 2 weeks, then another 2 weeks.
Or they can wait to put in place the right action at the right time.

Yes, I did but come on now, everyone else is doing at least something and our plan is to do nothing at all. That is backwards.

What happens if thousands upon thousands are affected and then die because we didn't try to do anything? That's going to be a case 'oh well, that happened, they're dead now.' Nah, sorry, doesn't sit right.

Well if that happens then I will be taking the government to court and sending the country back to the stone age by taking every single penny. Or I might just accept that I did plenty of immoral things in Thailand and Cambodia and it is just my bad karma biting me on the arse.
This is why you’re probably fine.

Your immune system is ultra battle hardened from all the viruses you’ve potentially ‘exposed yourself’ to during your *ahem* exploits

COVID19 wouldn’t stand a chance :D

I don't think it does tbh

Why let something linger? Yes, I get that we haven't been able to find a cure just yet and they probably want time for that, but just saying lets deal with it and see what happens when everyone else is at least trying to contain it, is absolutely mental

Its not letting it linger. Think of folk shopping for Christmas as opposed to folk shopping on a normal day. The shops are chaos, and struggle to cope.

Then apply that factual occurrence to the NHS having 6 months to deal with this instead of a few weeks. Like you say. There is no cure.

‘Everybody else doing it’ isn’t proof of the validity of anything.

Worth noting Italy are on full on lockdown. The same country that totally failed to deal with the virus to begin with. I’m not sure we should be copying them.

The whole purpose of what they've been saying is that they will never put the right action in, at any time - they want people to get the disease so they (and the country) develop an immunity. The economy won't be as effected, but it will kill more people than a lockdown would.

If you think there is anything the government can do to stop people dying then you're delusional.
When there is a lethal virus, people die. That's fact. You can't stop people dying.
What you're asking for is fantasy land. What the government is offering is realism.

I totally understand that , the issue with me and I suspect many of us is that inactivity and innaction feels counterintuitive. That’s not to say these people are wrong , I’m not a scientist so I’ve no real clue . When 90% of the ‘experts ‘ do one thing and we do the opposite it feels as if we may be wrong especially when I don’t really trust the PM . I don’t disagree I suspect there has maybe been an overreaction but in action in this situation feels peculiar .

hurrah for the Government!
