Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Yeah.

When I started that post I was thinking one dimensionally in how people are affected by the shutdown. But then I realised, maybe they would still have struggled before the shutdown.

All sorts of funny things happening. The wife was speaking to a couple earlier who have just had a kid, but because whatever council department registers new births is shut, the kid isn't on the system, so they can't get child benefit, and their mother-in-law flew in to visit just before the lockdown so they're stuck with her now. Both parents are in pretty precarious jobs due to the lockdown, and they're in a 1 bed flat. Every day she gets parents saying they've nothing to eat. Tricky times.

No I am not joking. He handed over the medical bloke, and in 20 seconds ish he said the measurement of tests has not changed. In a direct response to the journo who asked if the system had been changed.
People see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear sometimes mate.

It's like when you go the game sometimes. So and so was useless, hardly got a kick. And you're thinking what? Did you even see the game?

Had to laugh reading 15 mcdonalds stores will be opening for delivery only business - can you imagine how busy they are going to be lol

Either open them all for delivery or none at all surely?

They need to understand the practicalities of operating under social distancing regulations.

Also, the vast majority of McDonalds stores are franchises so it will be up to the owners of each franchise to decide how to proceed.

If they get too busy they can stop taking orders via Uber Eats etc

we were talking about responses to different questions.
Literally just seen that mate. This thread is moving so quickly you can't keep up. You miss half a dozen posts in the time it takes you to write one.

My point still stands though. It just didn't apply to your post.;)

I don't know why I didn't know that. I know a lot of business's operate that way but I just didn't see McDonalds doing it.

How do they manage to get the chips so crap in every location.?

Oh I see, earlier in the testing count the tests were logged as complete once returned to the lab; now the tests are logged as 'complete' when they've only been sent off in the post to the recipient of one.

So, we're still at about 50,000 or so tests per day under the original method of counting.

And HanCOCK claiming his inflated number of testing today as 'an incredible achievement'. Maybe he thinks that makes up for him and the rest of the government delaying a lockdown by 10 days and casting aside track and test and seeing 30,000 people being killed (and an an unimaginable devastation in care homes) as an 'incredible achievement' also?
