Spain and Italy are further down the curve than us by a couple of weeks, Spain are recording an average of 350, we are still 600+.

According to that table Italy have had 205,000 confirmed cases and of those 716,000 have recovered!!!

What errors do you think the Government has made in the years prior to this pandemic, and during, that have contributed to the excess number of deaths of British citizens?

This isn't a trick question by the way or some way to bash the Conservatives.

We need to accept the errors and understand them in order to learn the lessons, if we want to try and edge back towards a new normal and mitigate something of this magnitude happening again.

I honestly do not know if the U.K. has ‘excess deaths’. I just know the number we have been told and the numbers told by other countries. No one, and I mean no one, knows if everyone has been diagnosing, recording or even counting in a similar way in all cases. This is not a trick answer. This is just the reality of the current situation......

Looking at the totals is not how to interpret raw numbers.
Even pre-schoolers understand the concept of adjusting for population size.

Number of cases against number of deaths are the stats to look at, plenty of countries with much larger populations than us fairing a hell of a lot better, so population size is not relevant.

How many catch it and how many die is, which is why you can argue the USA is fairing better than us in treating it, they have just over double our death toll and 6 times more cases, pre-schooler.

Just the economic reality. Plus they have static nuclear bombs here in the UK in the guise of power stations that we allowed them to build, just practising prudence.

We are exceeding that 20,000 at some rate.
First rule of statistical evidence is what they are trying to hide just as much as what they are trying to prove. Certainly don't trust a ideological driven Government.

I meant excess deaths according to the 5 year average in this country, not compared to other countries.

Differing levels of testing will likely play a part but seems the issue is now more inland than on the coasts where the US outbreak started.
