Can't trust any data from China.

We all know people being in close proximity increases the spread so common sense dicates higher population density is bad.
There are valid questions about China data, which is why I said it would be interesting to see if pattern holds in other countries. However I also don’t automatically dismiss everything that comes out of there, at least in raising questions on base assumptions, particularly as we have very limited data set of countries that have passed through the bulk of their first wave. I’d love to see the same analysis on South Korea data for instance.

And just because a hypothesis seems “common sense” doesn’t mean it is necessarily correct or even if correct it is not overwhelmed by other factors - you test it against data.

Ok, so what conclusions can we draw, we have less cases but more deaths than Spain, yes, so does that mean that their hospitals and medics are better than our NHS. Is that what you are saying ?....
If we surpass Spain and Italy, which we will, they are two weeks ahead of us on the downward slope, we are nearly doubling Spain's daily death toll at present, then we could not have made a worse attempt at containing the virus of any European country, add that to all the scandal of Care Home deaths and PPE not being available, it's been a sh*t show from start to finish, and the buck has to rest with the Tory Govt.

Major review into how we'd cope with a pandemic in 2016, conclusion was we were badly under prepared and under gunned, advice given on how to improve our abilities to deal with it, all mainly ignored by the Govt.

But you are ignoring my question. We have fewer people diagnosed but higher deaths, and the majority of these are taking place in hospital (I won’t even discuss Spain’s care homes as they are a disgrace), so having now been diagnosed and entered hospital, are we medically treating people worse than Spain, yes or no ?....If yes, then this is a national disgrace, but I don’t think we are. So if the answer is no, then what other conclusions can you draw ?......

What errors do you think the Government has made in the years prior to this pandemic, and during, that have contributed to the excess number of deaths of British citizens?

This isn't a trick question by the way or some way to bash the Conservatives.

We need to accept the errors and understand them in order to learn the lessons, if we want to try and edge back towards a new normal and mitigate something of this magnitude happening again.

I'm a bit busy at the minute, but I'll share the current standard patient pathway and SOP for Covid19 patients tomorrow if it helps.

Might help with the hundreds of different 'why is this happening or not happening?' questions every day

Lack of testing, ie # cases diagnosed are underreported compared to Spain, would be a simple explanation. They are doing about 31k tests per million population compared to UK’s 13k

Hancock: “This is an important question Clive and I fully understand how you feel. I too, have hair, and need a haircut, so completely get that this is a difficult and emotional time for all of us.”

Not like there wasn't any warning eh?
