I think we continue with lockdown for a few more weeks to get case numbers right down, I think we would be in a better position in June to ease it than we would be now.

I can see at the review on the 7th May there being a couple of more weeks lockdown put in place mate, mainly because after cocking up at the beginning of the outbreak here the government will want to play it safe.

This is not even subtle as misinformation. Odious man. It's this sort of thing that makes me sincerely question everything this Government does and not give them any benefit of doubt. They are comfortable lying and misleading in the most casual way, about things that have very significant impacts on our lives and society.

lol

If Corbyn got in...

He would have done what Italy did.

Backroom deals galore and stakes all over the place given to China...

With Corbyn praising the Chinese, stating that no one is to blame and how theyve given free medical equipment to him and how amazing they are.

General Public praising him etc...then the papers leaking that all these deals with China for ventilators and masks have come at a great cost as hes given the Chinese all the goodies incl 5G and all the cream.

There isnt a cat in hells chance Corbyn would be standing up to China now...his supporters would all be mimicking him as well.

Has he disappeared yet?

Not sure on the new labour leader, or Johnson

But its pretty acceptable that @peteblue can be anti china and pro British Government.

I find it quite surprising for anyone to have an opposing view.
Now is not the time for politics. Give it a rest. Corbyn is human after all, he will make mistakes. He's out every day growing fruit and helping those in need.

Seems sensible, but I’d have liked to see something in there about how workplaces should behave (ie: feel sick and the demand is you do not come in, not get punished if you don’t).

A lot of companies are, understandably, making plans for when they can resume operations, but I don't know quite how closely they're working with Whitehall in doing so. As is so often the case, you suspect the problem won't be with the employers that treat their employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders well, but those who don't. As a caveat, in my wife's team, a number of colleagues (and indeed herself) needed longer than the 1 week sickness period to truly shift the virus, but were told to come in or stay at home without pay. Even the NHS is not immune to poor management, sadly.

He is an utter weasel.

And they've put it on a log scale, making it harder for a non technical person to follow.

tbf a log scale in this scenario is sensible as it gives a clearer indication of the change in the rate of growth.

it’s a clearer picture of exponential growth.

I’ve got qualms with the overall handling of this but I wouldn’t worry about a log scale.

I do it's the willy waving league table stuff, to pat the many on the head and go there there, they name drop as well, Belgium and Spain, they have moved off Italy now. Insidious spin.

Hang on. I’m referring to the scale used. I didn’t mention the comparators.
A log scale is appropriate for what the data is showing. It’s just maths.
